Hey redpill, since I haven't gotten much game time in with you yet and some others haven't yet either, I've thought up a list of questions I would like you to answer in as much or as little detail as you would like. No hurry either, this is completely unofficial but I feel it might let us get to know you a little better and might speed up your application process. Alot of SsT peeps have been a little busy as far as game time goes and not everybody plays League or Borderlands 2 but we all check the forums fairly frequently and perhaps some talking on here might just be a good idea. We're big on personality and want to get a feel for you, both in-game and out of game.
(1) What do you do? job, school, family, hang out, throw bottles at overpasses, steal from drug-lords, govern third world countries? what do you do for fun or for hobbies? (other than gaming lol) Feel free to expound as much or as little as possible, Death is a stay at home mom and Trigger likes to throw rocks at passerbys so there's no real specific thing or right answer we're looking for.
(2) If you were in a situation where you were gaming, let's say in Counter Strike on one of TPG's servers, and you noticed there were some drunk/belligerent/douchey pubbers not following the server rules and being all around lame. What would your actions most likely be? (tell them to get it together, find an admin, just ignore them, post on the forums that they are dumb and should be banned, log off and play a different game, just keep playing, etc....)
There is no correct answer, I'm sure everyone in SsT has done all of these things at one time or another; we'd just like to know what you think.
(3) We are kind of like a family here, both off and on the servers. Some of us SsT meet up and hang out when passing through town, some go to Quake Con, some call and talk on the phone, and some of us are mostly just here to game. What type of member would you be? would you like to make friends from around the USA that you would know both by their server name and as a real person? Or would you be more comfortable keeping things just to the servers? Again, no right answer, we have some people here who have met up in real life, and others who have never met each-other.
(4) What TV shows do you watch, if any, and why? If you don't really watch any or prefer not to answer, that's fine.
(5) Have you ever traveled before? if so, where is your favorite place you've ever been to? If you haven't done much traveling, where have you always wanted to go?
That's all I could think of for now. Who knows, maybe you will bond with one of us over a love of fruit or wanting to visit Thailand Again, no rush - this is just to get to know you a little better.

Awesome. I love any excuse to talk about myself. I am incredibly self-absorbed.
I'm a high school English and Theatre Arts teacher. I direct a show every year. I'm married to an awesome girl and we just bought a house. We're hoping to get pregnant soon.
I'm multi-hobbied (I'd say multi-talented but that is an incredibly pretentious term). I am a semi-professional public speaker, actor on the side, and visual artist (my sig was drawn by myself; it's an attempt to incorporate all the games I play). I have some art posted at both The Soapbox: A Web Site of Jim Jenkins and j-jim.deviantart.com. I am a fan of tabletop RPGs but it's hard to find a group to game with. Since we moved to Roanoke, VA that's been nigh impossible.
Since this is about getting to know the real me, I'll answer that honestly. When that has happened on the TF2 servers I got very vocally cranky. I made sure an admin knew and if it wasn't dealt with in game, I'd note the person's name and report them again if I saw them some other time. Like most people on TPG I highly value the safe haven from Internet dickdom that it provides.
I think that will vary from person to person. I certainly hope I'll come to like at least a few of you enough to want to hang out.
There's a couple shows my wife and I love to watch on Netflix. The first is Supernatural, which is way better than a CW show has any business being. The other is Sons of Anarchy, which is probably one of the best written, acted and directed shows of the current decade. I despise J.J. Abrams and everything he craps out.
Parks and Recreation is also great, and Community was really good until it wasn't. I also watch every episode of SNL but I can't really give you a good reason why. My wife and I are currently watching the season finale of Breaking Amish. We didn't have cable until after the move so we're soaking it in right now.
One of the things I think my parents did right was that they were incredibly frugal about my shoes and clothes and material stuff, but they'd pay up for opportunity. As a result I've been blessed with a lot of travel. My senior year I went to Italy, France, and the UK as part of an art history trip. My college freshman year I spent a semester in Ecuador, including the Galapagos (fricking amazing... fricking AMAZING). My favorite place is Florence. Full stop. The fricking Renaissance IS Florence; it's beautiful, and on top of all that it's a great party town.Last edited by Beige Lantern; 11-11-12 at 09:32 PM.

Where abouts in Roanoke are you? My wife's family is from there. I don't get down there as often as I used to, but it's a great area.
For the tabletop RPG's, there are a few hobby shops down in Blacksburg that may be able to assist you. I'm more of a 40K person myself.Per Aspera Ad Astra
