    Greetings and salutations

I was playing with BlueMaxox today, and he recommended that I drop by and say hi. So... H I've had some good rounds with [SsT] members like Blue, Dusty & Deathgod. It's been a pleasure. I tend to lead a squad called Vipers, and any member of [SsT] is always welcome in it.

Does [SsT] compete in any ladders/tournaments like TWL? I've been an online gamer for a long time (going back to leading a clan in the original Rainbow Six) and miss competitive play. I've been looking for a clan to call my own, even to the point of starting my own, just to get back to competing. Just curious...

    God speed, [SsT]!

Saint Chachi, welcome to the TTP forums! I should point out, however, that your sig image exceeds the limit for sig sizes. At TTP the sig size is not allowed to exceed 150X600 pixels (150 tall, 600 wide) which includes any text added outside of the image.

    Saint Chachi,

Welcome to the boards! Another name I've seen at the top of the leader boards from time to time, always good to see them show up around here.

SsT has not, to this point, entered into any ladders / tournaments - they have never been a focus at TTP, where the team oriented approach dominants our interest, and hence doesn't lend itself to smaller matches that TWL or similar presents.

That said - I'm personally interested in looking at TWL. I always figured that a TTP-wide approach should be used, however - as I expect the interest would be limited for the reasons stated above. At the same time, the top guns around here would be able to put togeather quite a showing.

One way or the other - you've always been tough competition, and it's good to have you show your face around here - welcome to the best gaming community on the planet, and welcome to the SsT home. Make yourself at home.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

I've been playing on TTP for a long time, just rather infrequently. I took about 6 months off of BF2, and before that I used to be a member of the now-defunct MatureAsskickers. We had our own server, but I would play on TTP or FullContactWar (although with the non-cap rules it's hardly full contact hehehe) every now and then. TTP has always had good teamwork and a low 'tard ratio... the formula for a good server.

As far as competitive BF2 goes, I've actually been snooping around the boards for awhile now checking out the different clans on TTP. None of them seemed interested in league play. It's not that league BF2 is the end-all-be-all, but it is the highest echelon of teamwork. As good as teamwork is on TTP is for pub servers, winning on TTP pales in comparison to you & your clanmates winning a league match, or better yet winning the league. That's the test of clan mettle. (MA) won TWL 5 seasons in a row, and it's easy to miss that kind of teamwork and comraderie.

Believe me, I know first-hand how hard it can be to get leagueplay going, and to keep it going. I've done it before, and it's no picnic. All in all I was hoping to find a clan on TTP to fight in TWL with since TTP's clans are all honorable clans, with skilled players. If teamwork minus tards = good pub play, then honorable clans plus skilled players = great league play. Some of the best players I've played with are on TTP, so a TTP-wide ladder would really be the cat's meow of competitive BF2.

Anywho, thanks for the welcome [SsT]. You'll definately see me skulking around the boards from now on.

    Re: Greetings and salutations

Having played TWL (HRD was once in it), I would dissagree that it's the "end all and be all" of teamwork. TWL is nothing but small-scale tactics. Nothing larger than 8 v 8, and if you never get bigger than that, you can't be an end-all/be-all of anything, IMO. Was it fun? Sure. But untill TWL gets a full 32v32 league going, it will never end-all anything.  You want end-all/be-all hang around here and join us when TTP scrims FCW or someone like them. That's end all and be all of teamwork. That's full on war at 32 v 32 (or pretty damn close). Nothing TWL does can compare. Ever.

However.. one GREAT thing TWL does... eliminates unlocks in its matches.. that is quite fun for me.

PS. Your sig size is still too large.

    Re: Greetings and salutations

    Walker,

Actually, what I said what that competitive BF2 isn't the end-all-be-all, but it is the highest echelon of teamwork. What that means is that leagueplay, while fun, isn't what it's all about - it's all about teamwork. Overall, there's plenty of that on TTP, but leagueplay just takes a higher level... the highest if you will. Even small scale 8v8 or 5v5 takes coordinated strategy and tactics by a clan to win. It's not how big the fight is. It's about what you do as a clan to win it.

Remember Grenada? Size doesn't matter... teamwork does. Now if only I could have convinced some of my ex-girlfriends of that fact! hehehe
