I just purchased the 2142 Deluxe download instead of reloading my old disc of the game, I figured I would circumvent some of the 2+ hour updates that way; but the EA master server won't load up for me when I start the game. I don't know why. It shouldn't be this difficult to buy and load a game...

Maybe your firewall is getting in the way and you need to fix your setting or program permissions. Or it could be that the master server was having issues a couple days ago which it was.
