Punkbuster File curruption? - Game Overlays

Ever since i downloaded this mod from their official site i been getting punkbuster kicks telling me about a file curruption. Did the mod mess with my original 2142? They said it wouldnt but maybe they lie'd. Do I re-install my game?

one of the extreme realism mods. I re-installed the 1.5 patch fot 2142, as told to do so by spanky, & i played on the server then after a round was over & a new map was loading my game froze before i joined a squad.

Hmmm... so the question is, is a game file corrupted or is a PB file corrupted?

If I'm following the thread right, its sounding like the problem lies with Evenbalance as a result of implementing new fixes to block hacks that take advantage of programs with game overlays such as Fraps and Xfire. So if that's true, my guess on why this hits you now and not earlier would be that the PB servers you connect to are just now being updated. Which probably means we'll hear about more people having this problem.

Don't run Xfire and see what happens. Update Xfire and see what happens then. And as always run PBsetup. It probably won't work, but doesn't hurt. I also found a thread on TG, but they hadn't come to a conclusion yet.

KJ, after talking to you last night you said you had Fraps going. Can you tell us if not using it fixed the PB problem for you?

Nope. If it is in a thread somewhere already posted I didn't see it then. But i thought this was an ok mod but i thought incorrect.

Raven I did the patch thing again like you said. I stopped using xfire & fraps for the moment to see how the game play is going. So far, So good. My gameplay is twice as better then it is with xfire & stuff running, the maps load faster now & i get no lag. I'm try this for a few more weeks & see how it turns out. Basicly I started a little experiment.

Good good. So in other words, no more file corruption PB kicks? That's good then. You should try with just Xfire running and then with just Fraps running. That way if you can see if just one of them or both of them is causing you problems with PB.
