ARGH!!!! F**KING VIRUS!!

I Had to restart My Computer Because it locked up on me.

Once i get back To The desktop, finally, I find out i have A FUCKING VIRUS!!!

Some kind of Utterly Annoying Adware, For Something Utterly Fake Called Total Protection.

I'm hoping My AVG Can get rid of the Blasted thing.

A lot of people have been getting this sort of pop up (from windows security) lately. I did a scan and NO virus was there.. Be careful not to click on anything.. Exit Firefox/explorer and reopen it

No, I'm Positive its a Virus.

It has its own Little Icon on my Task bar now, even. And, every Couple of minutes, i Get Pop ups Telling me My Computer is infected, and i need to get Total Protection (Fat-Fucking-Chance). Even if im not on the internet.

Yep, that sounds like a fun one. If you can run full system scans in safe mode with AVG, try doing that. What OS are you on?

Windows XP.

I'm doing a full System Scan now. Is there any difference in running it in safe mode, though?

Yep I had a similar one last night (virus doctor) I think it was called, what was kinda surprising is that the forums here was the only web site I visited

I used malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/ no prob now

Free although they do have a pay version Got it from zdnet (I think) as a recomended dl but in any case, great proggy, use it often..

It sounds like this thing is making a comeback. Remember: if one of these rogue programs launches a pop up, DO NOT click on it AT ALL. Try to use CTL-ALT-DEL to close the pop up window, and follow the directions in the above link ASAP.

It's still kinda new and grabs a few false positives, but Iobit is a sexy group of guys.
