Thread: You wouldn't believe my day yesterday...

So, yesterday was a pretty awesome day for me. I got to go see the NHRA Mile High Nationals yesterday. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a big drag racing competition that is held every year up near Denver, where racers from around the country come to compete. Anyways, my dad had starting line tickets right next to the race track, so we had a very good view of everything. That alone was pretty sweet. We could see the pit crews working on the cars as the pulled up to the line, and all sorts of other stuff. Anyways, near the time when the pros came out they held a contest. You texted the word "Diehard" to a number and you won a prize. One person won the grand prize, which was to be the Diehard fan on the day. And guess what, my dad won it. So after the first heat of the pro races we got to go up and be in the VIP tent of the Diehard Funny Car (Driven by Matt Hagan) right next to the pit area of the car. We got to meet Matt Hagan, talk with him, take our pictures with him, watch his mechanics fix his car. We to eat the VIP food, and got a whole bunch of cool autographed stuff (I got a hat, and my dad got a Die cast car of the Diehard funny car, as well as a piston that had been used in the car the previous race). And then, to top it all off, I got to ride in the Tow car all the way down to the track and into the back area. It was pretty sweet.
