Thread: L4D2

Okay I am thinking about buying this. Someone tell me the basics. Don't want to get in and be clueless.

Download the demo and give it a looksee... You should be able to get everything you need from it about whether you will want to buy the real deal.

The spitter spits green acid at you.
The charger well charges you and knocks you the fuck out if he hits. He can also pick one of the players up and smash them on the ground a little.
The jockey jumps on your back and pounds your head, also moves you around a little bit.

Melee weapons are pretty sweet, but they replace your pistol so no unlimited ammo as a secondary backup when you need to kill things from a distance.

You seem to get a lot more weapon choices than L4D 1 as well. The demo map is pretty nice, just have to watch out for some zombies climbing over everything as the maps seem more open.

Also, the witch walks around and doesn't just sit in one place.

There is more, but I don't feel like writing a lot right now.

Have you played L4D1? That would help out a lot as well as much of the mechanics are the same, but improved upon.

Never played one, I will check out the demo. Thanks for your time/help

It was fun shooting up the zombies, so hows is the VS mode? Is it death match or team death match? Anyone played it yet since its release is today?

There's no "death match".

Vs mode is two teams of four. Each campaign has 5 maps usually. Each map is played by one team as survivor and the other team is infected. Each team plays the map once swapping between survivor and infected. Whoever is winning points-wise plays first on the next map as survivor. Infected players play as special infected (boomer, smoker, hunter, tank in the first game and boomer, smoker, hunter, spitter, jockey, charger, tank in the new one).

The team with the most points at the end of the campaign wins.

Co-op or single player is fun... but it doesn't hold a candle to vs.
