New Biomes today. Bases will get destroyed in certain areas.
[09/21/15] Introducing the Angler & The ARK Digest: Special Edition 01 :: ARK: Survival Evolved General Discussions
"The above map represents where the new biomes will exist on this ARK. If there are any structures which have been created in a way that they do not conform to the terrain, the game will automatically demolish them on Friday, so you guys will have a week to move bases. We’re still trying to avoid any wipes as much as possible and will continue to do so up until release. Sorry about any inconvenience guys, this is all part of the early access program and as the game continues in it’s development cycle and the ARK continues to… evolve... things like this are always a possibility."

Looks like it is for real happening today (Sunday) at some point. Change log is massive for an ARK update. Two new biomes, three new dinos, a new fur clothing set, human and dino level cap increase... pretty awesome.

Re: New Biomes today. Bases will get destroyed in certain areas.
Posted at 10pm last night...still didn't see an update. Not complaining, they turn out updates at least every week... just keeping this thread updated that so far there still isn't an update I have seen client side.
There is a note in the post about it the deploy being available tonight, however I'll move it to the top to make it more noticeable - sorry about the confusion guys!
"Just a little note - we're still preparing and aiming to deploy the patch (late) tonight Eastern! Most likely will be around the early A.M "

It looks like we might need to get Kanati to do the following command once the update hits. I know the people in the snow areas were able to get their stuff moved last night (wasn't a lot to move since we raided it) and are aware of their base most likely being destroyed. Although the devs did respond to a question about this and the following to say:
"
It's optional and recommended. If you do not launch with this param, it will not impact your server.
It will impact all official servers.

"
* Server Admin Note: One-Time Auto-Structure Demolish on Swamp and Snow Zones: To do this, which you can only execute once after updating to v216, run your server or game with this commandline: -StructureDestructionTag=DestroySwampSnowStructures

Took a quick (and self-destructive) run-around in singleplayer to see the biomes. The terrain is RADICALLY different in those areas now. The map reflects the snow biome, but the swamp section on the map doesn't show that it's changed. Also, the towers have been rotated. Blue tower is now at Radiant (not called that anymore), Red tower is where Green was, and Green is where Blue used to be.
The snow biome is interesting because there's crystal littered everywhere. No more having to risk mountain tops or caves to get a little bit of crystal, just the cold (for new players, at least)."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."
