How To Setup Wasteland

So hypothetically lets say someone I know very well was having trouble getting into a Wasteland server. Keeps saying different version. He/she/it would benefit tremendously from a quick tutorial on how to set that up properly.

Lets also say that they are on the dev version of ArmA3 and downloaded the latest pbo file and put it in their MPMissions folder. What else could I..........er....... my friend be missing?!?

Ask blah, hr uses the dev version. For the reg version, I didn't have to do anything as wasteland is a mission, not a mod.

So what youre saying is that there is nothing extra I have to do to play Wasteland? I can just have ArmA3 installed and connect to one of those servers?

Here's the thread on how to set up the Dedicated Server.
Conversely setting up the Client is as simple as Starting A3 and joining the Server.

To create a dedicated server, all you have to do is download the wasteland pbo file and place it in the MPMission folder in ArmA 3.

Then you just need to add the line in the cfg to run that mission and template.

Easy stuff.

And as others have said, to play wasteland, you just pick a server and join. No need to download anything.

Hmmm I wonder why I was getting a version conflict error then.

I just received an update through Steam hours before trying to connect to multiple servers and then tried to switch to the dev version and still nothing. No servers are showing up on my server browser either. Not sure whats going on.

Perhaps I shouldve put this in the public forum instead...

Do you have any Mods enabled through the Expansions Tab?
