Rev! We want numbers!
Going along with what you posted a few days ago about the ratio of gunboats that spawn with ammo to those that dont.
Can you reveal to us the numbers on how often the new vehicles are going to spawn?
For instance, there are now 6 helicopters.
Little Bird, KA60, Merlin, Ghosthawk, Mi48, Commanche.
How often are the new helicopters going to be spawning!
Same for the new vehicles if you feel like giving that info as well

Re: Rev! We want numbers!
I only added the Comanche for now in attack heli mission possibilities. I will have to move the mission spawns to flatter grounds before adding the other helis, because they're huge and will most likely explode on spawn at many current locations.

Re: Rev! We want numbers!
Slightly off topic I know, considering this is about helicopters, but there was another new feature from beta that never made the transition to the server. The new optic, the x4? I forget its name, but I've seen it in single player and on other servers, but I haven't found it in loot or the shops on TPG. Any plans to fix that?

hrrm....
with 84 players, did you up the amount of guns/ammo that is spawning in boxes?
also, I noticed this server pretty much pretends "nighttime" doesnt exist, so do we really need chemlights and NV while waiting on bohemia to fix people just being able to turn up brightness/contrast?
seems to me a few extra magazines or first aid kits would be better off spawning.

Re: Rev! We want numbers!
I didn't change the ammo in boxes. Too much ammo with few players will lead to a fuckfest, and increasing the loot based on the number of players would be a pain to code. Besides, it was maxed at 65 players before, I increased it to 84 as demanded by a server owner with 80 slots. Besides, the TPG server is still capped at 50 slots.
I won't remove NVGs and chemlights, because some servers change the time of day to their liking, and some might have longer restart delays or none at all. The sun moves at the same speed as in real life, and since TPG matches only last 4-5 hours before being restarted, I'd have to set the starting time to evening if we want nighttime action, which probably wouldn't make everyone happy. However, I can look into making the sun go faster, if that's desired.
I highly doubt that BIS considers brightness/contrast as in need of a "fix", since ArmA is built upon the idea that unwanted features are to be disabled on a voluntary basis by the player. It would require a complete separate mod to do anything in that regard. The closest thing possible is changing the view distance and fog density, which can be forced by the server.
If I add an extra pistol magazine for a total of 4, and one first aid kit, would it be fine?

Re: Rev! We want numbers!
As much as I'd love to know how often things will spawn, counts of weapons and ammo, etc etc... I'm reminded of DayZ Chernarus. While it was awesome when a newb, my overall feeling is that having the dayzdb map open 100% of the time and building strategy based on the various probabilities and locations detailed there probably limited the number of places that firefights could happen and therefore the overall excitement of the game. I'd like to see more random 'heads-up' or 'roving' type strategies paying off and less of the 'base-building' or camping mentality. Don't get me wrong, I love defending/attacking bases and sneaking up on a sniper - I just think that it should be less obvious WHERE they will be set up.
More (but still very limited) starting gear sounds like a good idea to me!

Re: Rev! We want numbers!
Is it possible to move the spawn locations off all the major towns/bases and onto different terrain? I don't know what is involved, so apologies for my ignorance.
If so, I would really like to see that changed. I understand that spawning in towns means new people instantly get to pick up a vehicle (if any are left) and a weapon, except I think that kinda fucks the game in the long term. After 20 minutes every vehicle is gone or looted, and in the situation of base building, once your lock on the zone is either broken or compromised by an opposing faction attacking you, you are now subject to the complete randomness of spawns that might bring either your own team mates, or enemies, or completely random players into the battle, most of the times spawning inside or behind your defenses. Random number generation really destroys strategy, and it really spoils the fun of attack/defense. Moving the spawn locations into the wilderness (or just away from the major population zones) will make a life more valuable, increase the longevity of the vehicle spawns, and will increase people's ability to mount a proper defense and attack.
Just a thought.
