    Any other maps forthcoming?

    I read about a potential new map in the future, which brings up a good point. Does anyone know the long term plans for maps with ARMA3?

    Is wasteland it, or are there plans for other maps and occasional rotations?

    ARMA most of the time is played on 1 map. I know some like different maps like BF has but think of it like this, ARMA has 1 map which is bigger than if you combined all the BF maps together. As time went on in ARMA 2 some developers began to create other maps.

    Stratis is the Island we play on now.

    Limnos is reportedly the next map to be released.

    Wasteland isn't a map just the mission file that we run. This file can be set up to run on any map. I'm sure there will be more maps included into the new ARMA just like the multiple ones available for ARMA 2.

    Referring to my post a while back: http://www.teamplayergaming.com/arma...ltis-big.html?. Limnos was renamed to Altis, and is the second stock map they will be releasing.. Stratis, the current map, is the island off to the lower right.

    Wow, the new map is big. Seems that without an increase in population density, our battlefields could stop looking like NYC and more like Butte, MT. Good explanation on Wasteland mission file. I get it now.

    It's a mission and not a mod like DayZ. The map, objects (players, weapons, vehicles, etc.), and associated behaviors are already resident within ArmA 3. However, the mission must be constructed and coded. Doing an Altis-Wasteland version is a whole new venture. Given it's size, hope there is some way to section off an area for play, with the rest out of bounds (ala Battlefield 2/3). If not, putting all the player/vehicle spawns in a portion of the island would naturally restrict play. Unless you get a hankering to do the Magellen round-the-island mission.

    If Arma 3 has the same modability as Arma 2 had, then there are likely to be some very good custom maps coming out as soon as it hits release. One can already play Takistan or Chernarus on Arma 3, and I suspect some of the best of the other user made maps will be converted. Tora Bora, Fallujah, Lingor, etc.

    I gotta disagree. We should use all of Altis when it comes. I suspect it would take some time to get the spawns set-up and that is understandable. However it's size is what will make it so awesome. Increase in size naturally means an increase in vehicles and types of vehicles. That and if we can get like 3 day runtime going so we can have some serious bases.

    I'm SURE 404games will Port Wasteland to Limnos/Atlis when it comes out.
    I also foresee a 100+ player version. and a Possible 4th Faction.

    On BMRF Arma2 WL If you Lock Down Base parts Before the Server Reset, the spawn in the Exact same place Unlocked on the Next Session. Kinda persistent, but kinda not. If you Fail to Lock down Pieces they disappear on restart.

    This Would add a HUGE lag to some servers But Madhatter the Resident Coder over there, started decreasing the Ammount of Base Parts that Spawn Randomly and Added the Base PArt Store. Every piece is 5 bucks, and you can buy 25, 50, and 100 Slot Containers. So building a Base is a Snap. I tow 2 MTVR's together, they carry 50 slots each, and I buy 4x100 slot containers, I can then fit 10 LONG Double Tall wall pieces in Each Container. That's 40 Wall Pieces PER trip, and 420$ per Trip.
