Mission Night Report 9/14
First of all, big thanks to the NoM folk and all the rest who showed up to try out some Arma 3 missions, I don't think I've had so much fun in a long while.
First off was a hostage rescue mission on Stratis where we paradropped into the island. Some of us harder than others. I laughed so hard I nearly fell off my chair, between Max and Steggy's premature parachute malfunctions to War having....exactly the opposite and going splat. After engaging enemy troops in a running firefight through the woods we finally make it up to Camp Rogain, interrupting the enemy forces during their evening briefing. Several war crimes may have been committed as unarmed enemy officers were executed at close range. Interrogation was unsuccessful, although we did eventually find the hostages, but due to a bug weren't able to get them out, so we declared victory.
Second mission "Assault from the Deep" started off with us all inserting into Altis via mini-subs, we secured the beachhead and quickly swapped into combat uniforms(Except for Steggy who kept his classy black wetsuit and rebreather for half the mission). We pushed through to assassinate an enemy officer, take down multiple pieces of armor, including AAA and Mobile Artillery as dusk fell, before finally extracting via Ghosthawk in a haze of chemlights and smoke. Especially liked that this mission had a mobile rally point that the squad leader could drop that also had ammo resupply. A definite repeat. I think this was the mission everyone was working the best in, as we assaulted the final position, Steggy, Clevergeek(I think, sorry if I mixed you up) and I were in a fireteam wedge formation, approaching our last objective, Steggy takes fire and eventually goes down but Clever and I are able to flank the entrenched enemy and light them up with automatic fire, then I run back and set the rally point in time for Steggy to spawn back on our position. In this mission, not only did we learn the value of tracer rounds in identifying targets, but how pretty they look against the night sky.
Third mission...."Friday Night Redneck Salt Lake Massacre" One player is a swamp monster with NV goggles and a melee attack, the rest are rednecks with plenty of beer, no NV goggles, one magazine of ammo each, and flashlights. It was fun as all hell, probably needs to be balanced a bit more to help out the swamp monster. I will see about working on that. Total score was Rednecks 2, Swamp Monster 1(because nobody was paying attention and all us dumb rednecks left the hunting zone).
Final Mission of the night was a convoy mission with an IFV escorting an ammo truck. Our IFV crew got into a tremendous firefight with enemy armored vehicles, and after losing it, we continued to clear out the radio tower and destroy enemy mortar positions protected by special forces in a brutal fight through a heavily wooded hillside. Thankfully we had sniper overwatch, as our assault elements moved through the forests, engagements turned to knife fight range as we fought for every tree and rock to our objectives. There was more to the mission, but I had to cut out.
Anyways, I don't know about everyone else, but I had a blast. I think we should definitely do it again. *coughcoughWeeklyTPGservermissionnights* Any thoughts from the rest of you guys?

Re: Mission Night Report 9/14
Sorry, didn't manage to get one until late last night. Anyways, I'm planning on running missions again next Saturday. Otherwise I can always run some smaller ones if there are around 4 or more people on, but I don't know when exactly I'll be free this week.
