Priming The Wasteland Server

All,

I really appreciate those of you that have been trying to get the A3 server primed each and every day. It is one of the toughest things to do in the gaming world. Hours and hours of twiddling your thumbs as your desire to kill players instead of AI grows and grows. Seriously, thanks! I am sorry that I have not been on the past couple of days. I have been busy with work and today I am leaving on a turkey hunting trip though Sunday.

I still think we have a really good chance to get this thing going. We have had about 50 players connect. We need to make that 300-400. We also need to do it in a manner that does not burn people out. We need to combine and focus our efforts. We need to figure out a way to have 20 of us on the server at one time to truly test this thing. I think at that point things will kickoff and we can be full soon.

I see prime time based on other servers that we play being 3pm-12am CST. I am going to throw a poll up in 3 hour increments to see what works best for everyone. Lets focus on that time with all hands on deck. We need help from the breaking point guys as well so please participate until we can get this thing kicked off.

I would also encourage you to post in this thread any time you want to attempt to prime and see what kind of response that you can get.

Sorry I have not been around this week. I've been working nearly round the clock with no time to even turn my rig on. Hopefully I will be on for a few hours tonight after 7 EST.

Things are going to get tougher for y'all. GameSpy (the server browser used within Arma 3) is shutting down.

As of May 31, GameSpy will be no more. Bohemia is working on a replacement solution, but may not be ready by May 31.

Not going to make promises, but if I do get on it's going to be around 10pm on the weekdays. I have always been a weekend player when playing any Arma.

That being said I am very happy that the game seems to finally be optimized. I used to hate playing but now I can honestly say it runs great and is more enjoyable than arma2.

Bohemia have already started transitioning to Steam server listing, if you look at the top of the in-game browser, you can switch between GameSpy and Steam.

Looks like the 6pm-midnight slot is best so lets focus our efforts there. I just do not want to see people burnt out and move on to something else. I have been away for several days but will be back on as much as I can between those hours.

Looks like we have had some connections over the past several days but not a ton.
