Have to agree with Source a bit here, changing maps can be done but it is a hard call as you will have some peopel who love the change while others hate it. As it relates specfically to Bornholm, to play on that map one would need to download an additional 1.7GB add-on and include it into their start-up parameters. For some this would be easy for others it would not. The end result is a split community.
Don't misunderstand me, I think Bornholm is a beautiful and well put together map that I would LOVE to play on but I would be concerned of what it would possibly do to the server pop if implemented. Now this could be something we put on the test box and give a once over and allow people to get map time to provide feedback? But that is something to discuss after the .3 update.

Re: Video Thread
Let's see where we level off pop wise. There's no reason to abandon a popular and working Cherno server. If we feel we have a healthy and self sustaining player base on Cherno, then we can look forward to other options.
To me the question is do we add a second Cherno server? or add a Bornholm server (significantly more work). Or both. Physical resources on the box will have to be tested will full server pops before we make any decisions. Krom's absolutely right, lets not cut off our wings just as we're finally flying by moving too fast and splitting a player base.
I think we're picking up alot of traffic due to reliable performance.
Firecock has gone to the way side due to performance issues and failed administration. CCG's US servers have been taken down/ put back up and they're basically holding their player base hostage for donations to keep it running. These combined are making us a reliable choice, last thing we want is to screw up performance and reliability.Last edited by Ace22; 03-19-15 at 05:23 PM.
