I can't remember finding a gun that already had a silencer on it. My problem is finding silencers themselves everywhere. And if you cant find them in loot spawns then you will at the traders who have a few for each caliber.
Reducing the spawn rate for all silencers by a few %s might be a needed adjustment also.

Same here. That's why, now for the third time, I'm saying the big guns gotta be pared back too. There are two ways to kill and have a good chance of survival. One is quietly, and the other is having a longer range than your opponent. The prob with the big guns is the sound footprint is large, very difficult to triangulate. Because of that, if I don't have a big gun myself, I can only assume the shooter is at a longer distance and jus exfiltrate the area. I'm not alone in this. The opposite of the desired effect for increased engagements.

To both what Scott and Dread mentioned, we want to reward players for spending time on the server. It shouldn't just be get on, fresh spawn, find gun, find silencer, etc etc. That's not to say even with reduced spawn rates someone could get lucky and find both a good sniper and suppressor right out of being fresh spawn right, but we shouldn't just be handing that stuff out so easily.
There will still be players who play like Scott and Dread ie players who enjoy playing tactically, but now all we are saying is that we're going to make you work for that ability. If someone has more time than another, well then ya he's going to have that ability before someone who doesn't play often.

Isnt everyone in this discussion saying that less suppressors will promote more PvP in general? Read over all the posts after reading yours and didnt see anyone's argument bringing up wanting to survive. On the contrary less suppressors most likely means more chance of you dying cause you gave your position away.

And if Epoch/Overpoch didnt have some sort of survival aspect there wouldn't be base building. Let's not over analyze the game. Smoken is one of the biggest proponents of player interaction rather then "sit in a base and touch yourself while looking at your shelves". People will continue to use big guns and silencers to their advantage it just wont be so god damn easy to do so.

We will work on reducing the # of suppressors in the dynamic loot list but until then if you dont want your gun to go pew pew then dont pick them up and it will go bang bang.

I might have eluded to the survival aspect of the game. I have certainly said aloud in TS that i prefer the survival aspect of this type of game. Thus my affinity for supressors. That said, i am still in agreement that they should not be as prevalent as they are.
