Thread: Server was wiped?

Alls well that ends well!

It ain't ended yet. I'm shutting down the server and removing the dll files from the D: drive's root directory sometime today or tomorrow. That's likely going to cause bad things to happen. But we can't have it where it's at.

Can it wait a week or two?

We are most likely going to have to wipe when the new Epoch update comes out. That should happen in the next week or two. Then it won't matter at all.

If we have to wipe now, and then wipe again when the update comes out, it will most likely cost us many of the gains we have made (new players).

If we must we must, but if we can get by for the next couple of weeks, it would be ideal.

I'm actually surprised things didn't explode when I nuked everything else that was installed to the root of the D: drive. But yeah... I suppose. My OCD is gonna be freaking out knowing there's two dlls in use in the root of the drive... but...

Go wash your hands a few dozen times....you'll feel better.

I think we both know that I have no idea exactly how things got jumbled and even less about unjumbling them. If they are going to cause a security risk on the box, or interfere with other processes we have running, we have to do what we have to do. But......We have players building stuffs and growing roots on the server, and it would certainly be counter-productive to hit them with the Ortho. If it can wait until the update comes out, and we can do everything at once, that would be ideal. I'll even buy you a nice brick of Irish Spring to help distract you and make you feel less dirty.

Those are from the infistar antihack. What am I missing here?
