I actually took the liberty of downloading many of those buttons and noted that they do not seem to have transparent borders and are also on a greyish background...

Want 'em to stand alone on the white page and have a 1px transparet border? or just the steam one and only a border? (I am in portfolio building mode here)

none of them have a greyish border on my screen. they were all done correctly. just some have no border at all.

the www one is 20 high. I didn't say make it taller. I said add the side borders.

do the TF2 icon as well. make sure it has a 1px border on the left and right.

After that last WWW button was put up I noted it had an ugly assymetrical angle on the right side; it was pissing me off.

I fixed it.

Sorry to make so many attempts (6 in all) but this one looks pretty good.

I figured out this mystery!

My laptop has IE 6 (I never bothered to update it yet) and my gaming rig has IE 7. When I look at it with IE 7 it is fine, through IE 6 they are in greyish boxes. I did some research:

GIF
Widely compatible, 8 bit indexed color: 255 colors and a transparent channel.

PNG-24
16 bit color depth: 16.7m colors with 8 bit transparency, supports AA on transparent edges. Transparency not compatible with all browsers. (like IE 6 and some others). Looks nicer than GIF due to AA and 8 bit transparency but not everyone can see it correctly.

PNG-8
(the two buttons I made recently for TF2 and Steam are perfect looking on IE 6)
8 bit color depth: 255 colors and a transparent channel. Supports AA on transparent edges.
This is the happy medium, it looks correct on all the browsers I have tested it with. I am fully willing to convert all the PNG-24 buttons if you want.

Anyone tried this out in L4D2? I find it really fun and interesting.

Here is how you do it.

1. Enable the console
2. In the console type in sv_cheats 1
3. And then type in map mapname versus
4.when the game starts type in sb_all_bot_team 1 (if you take too long the server will close)
5. Then type in vs_max_team_switches 99

And then you have it.

The AI bots will move through the level fast, but they may get stuck because they were not programmed to do certain things such as Pressing buttons and leaving certain areas, you should switch teams and do their goal and then switch back.

But other then that, singleplayer versus is kinda fun.
