Re: How many people would you like per squad?
6 is ideal. Sometimes, you gotta watch more than 1 flag and its really hard to do that and delegate shit when you only have three guys to work with. In BF2, I could get two guys to hold point A and feel comfortable with attacking another flag with my remaining three. Its much more difficult doing that in BF3. I mean really, you can't. One dude isn't going to hold a flag.

I'd argue that the style of game play is more dependent on squad size as opposed to vice versa. In BF2 managing a squad was far more difficult than BF3 based on map size alone, yet 6 still worked great. Plus you got to play the game with 5 friends instead of 3. I wouldn't push it to 8 because then you get 25% of the team pushing the same objective. Now if we got bigger maps suited for 128 players...

thats what i am hoping for in the near future. PR sized maps 120+ players say 10 man or 12 man squads where you can break them down into fireteams. I'm just itching for something like that to come along. Would make being a sq. leader so much more fun and challenging imo.

Re: How many people would you like per squad?
Mark my word, we'll never see the commander again, unfortunately. People who want to see the return of that (REALLY FUCKING IMPORTANT) aspect of the game are part of the minority, apparently. You just need to take a look at any other forum to see that a most people despised the commander and how it was "unfair" that someone was allowed such powerful abilities, and claim that most of the time in pup servers, the commanders used these assets just for themselves (go figure, I've barely see that happen, both in 2 and 2142, in that time before I discovered TTP).
And even if the majority of battlefield fans wanted it, theres no reason why dice would make it happen. They aren't trying to sell new games to the same audience over and over again. They are aiming at making the "best first person shooter" (or should I say, the "best selling first person shooter). And it's not by reimplementing complexity to the core of the series that they'll manage to do it.
