A question for snipers
Why do you prefer to use the bolt actions vs the semi autos?
they're all one-hit kills in the head.
After a while, I realized that I can't hit someone in the head worth a damn... so I tend to end up just WOUNDING someone from a distance... which isn't always useful.
So, last night I switched back to the Semi-auto rifles and had a lot better success killing people as I could fire twice in succession without having to re-sight my target.
So, if you're aiming for the head anyway, they all kill in one... what's the point of the higher damage specs on the bigger guns?

Re: A question for snipers
SKS is the only recon weapon that will not score a 1 shot head kill, unless its hardcore. SV98, M98B, M40A5 and L96 are the only ones at any range to score a 1 shot head kill. The rest depend on the range. Check out this chart.

Re: A question for snipers
I have the straight bolt but just use the normal in favor of other upgrades. I guess for me with the bolt I do my best to make sure the first shot lands and not count on firing twice. I'm at a 58% headshot percentage with the L96 or SV98 while I'm at a 33% for the SKS. Also my accuracy is 8-12% lower when using semi auto rifles.
I normally use tripod and 8x scope unless in the bigger maps where I swap to 12x. Almost always using a silencer. You definitely have to spend more time calculating bullet drop with one though. Best headshot so far is almost 500m with a bolt action, tripod, and silencer.
I've been thinking of trying out a semi auto with the Kobra during cqb maps. I need to stop using the USAS
