Thread: The Battle of Montereau

So http://www.teamplayergaming.com/batt...laine-act.html went very well. Lots of people showed up, and the gaming was intense.

Having already made a commitment to play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, all that remains is to find tonight's arbitrary theme.

On February 18th, 1865, the Union Army under General Sherman set the South Carolina State House in Columbia on fire, and to this day South Carolinians remember the burning of Columbia as "kind of a downer". The Union Army eventually conceded the events to have been "not our finest hour".

So rather than inflame our old national hatreds, I've decided to focus on the old hatreds of those who had been getting their hate on long before we USofA-ers joined the league.

Tonight we celebrate The Battle of Montereau (Feb. 18, 1814), where Napoleon defeated an army of Austrians and Württembergers.

That's right: Ima get all Napoleon on your ass.

(yeah, that's pretty gay, but we're trying to get Xav to show up)

PRIMING! LETS DO THIS!!!

The Battle of Montereau also went well.

The server didn't stay as full for as long, but there were many good rounds up until about 11pm eastern when things started to fade.

Once we were up to about 16 players we began pulling in random pubbers again. We also had old regs showing up, even though they didn't know about the Battle of Montereau. People still want to play here, even if some of them don't want to prime.

Props for ass-kicking go to h7g6f5, EvilSmileyFace, and especially to cornfuse who put together an amazing round on Sharqi. Bigger props go to the early primers; Warflagon, h7, and roadhog, and a couple others whose names escape me at the moment.

I plan to do it all again tomorrow.
