They're aligning their business plan with those of the movie industry. Pump out a New product every weekend with huge hype. I*ts the been the business model of every entertainment industry for a some time. While it's proven to be a bad one, the only way they will right it is by enacting DRM and silly Laws.

Wow......just fucking wow...

Not having a reserved slot system will absolutely kill their biggest game. Guaranteed. We are lucky in the fact that we have a large enough community to absorb the cost of our server, but not having slots KILLS the smaller operations which are essential to the life span and general population of the game. They won't stand for having to stand in line to use hardware that they are struggling to support for very long.

Why the fuck did they even bother creating Origin if they are going to implement abject failure as a business model? If you weren't going to support the people who host YOUR game on their dime, who do you think will be left to use it? No servers = No players = No need for Origin. They must be crazy, because it's hard to believe anyone is this stupid.

Think of this way... they are trying to eliminate communities like TPG and TG from getting money by denying reserve slots... Sounds like DICE doesn't care for community support but all gamers in one whole BF3 community... I know it sucks but thats probably the move they thought was losing money from... More games are going that route.. and bf3 is just the stepping stone...

So who is going to pay for those BFX servers with no opportunity to be reimbursed by those playing on them? Unless EA has some master plan to start hosting all of their own servers, thus eliminating all the monthly income they get from GSPs, I don't buy that theory. It is just another example of them shitting on the PC market.
