Re: Team Balance, Really???
Yeah, I cannot say that I do not care about winning or losing. I do. But what happened last night was a massacre ... losing a hard fought battle (while disappointing) is still a great deal of fun and exhilarating. It's those close battles that I enjoy the most. This was not the story last night.
Is it the nature of the beast? ... perhaps ... time will tell ... maybe all the blinking upgrades and kits create a huge disparity in how lethal a person/team can be? ...Last edited by Amador +JP2+; 04-12-12 at 07:48 PM.

Re: Team Balance, Really???
Again tonight another 9 rounds lost in a row. The first 2 rounds I played tonight we lost by 200+, the next couple was a little closer something like 150+. Then it jumped back up to 200+ And yes we had players in TS and communication was working well but we were just being out shot. On one round the top score on our side was 2000 points and below while the top 10 scores on the opposing team was above 4000 points.
This is really frustrating.
Should I jump to the other team so I can enjoy the victory? of course not, that is not being a team player. But repeatedly stomping the shit out of the other team is? NOT!!! Again I am not blaming one person but the ones who need to step up and balance the server are the ones on top, YOU KNOW who you are.
However, I am going to assume you are only here to pad your own stats and not try and help the server grow by aiding the team balance.

Re: Team Balance, Really???
I too was on last night, but luckily there were a couple of wins in there at last. There are some TPGeers that appear to be in it only for the presonal glory, even at the expense of bullding the server population. It took a few rounds to consistently break into the 64 player maps. One side got so pounded that 20-30% would leave at the end of the round. Rebalance with fewer overall players, and repeat. The highly talented killing machine(s) never changed sides.Last edited by dreaddman; 04-13-12 at 12:23 PM.

Who remembers BF2 when those odd chances that all [IRON] would end up on same team and it be an air map. You couldn't look at the sky or a vehicle unless keld or h7 were on. Or when hrd would end up on same team and would get reamed at every flag you thought of going to. It seemed like they were psychic. They knew where you were going and were already waiting on you. That is IF your chopper made it safely.
We all run into games That suck.. A LOT. those are the games where I got better. I learned to sneak around better. Find other ways to a flag. How to react faster. Where to lay a seemingly random Claymore and take out half a squad trying to jump us.
Sometimes dropping game to do a round of HoN or LoL helps me. Gets my mind off being shot and lets things hopefully even out.

Self-improvement is -highly- incentivized by playing on TPG server, LOL. However, we are going through this decision of HC vs Vanilla (vs Custom) to fill the server. -Keeping- non-TPGers on the server is just as important. Otherwise, don't bother, and just go back to the Custom settings.

Re: Team Balance, Really???
Well, the problem is, its not an "odd chance" but a more common occurrence of late. And another thing i notice is, its not our regs always at the top of the dominating team. We've been picking up population and with it have come some very skilled new comers and some whos "skill" is questionable at best. Those are the ones i see inadvertently affecting the balance that we have become accustomed too. Compound that with the difficulty of switching players and you get 5-10-15 rounds of loosing, or winning depending on your team placement.
Seldom were these ass pounding streaks a problem when we had lower populations, it was much easier for regular players and admins to balance the talent. At least that's how i recall it, i may be wrong though.
And honestly all these new players really screw up the team dynamics.... not that its always a bad thing, its just different. When i log on and look at the team i am on, and the makeup of the opposing team, i can get a good idea of how we need to play our rolls if its mostly regs. I've enjoyed that, and it has allowed me to steadily improve as a player for the last couple of months. But when you don't recognize a name and have no idea of the play style of your team or the enemy, playing 3 rounds just to get an idea of where you stand and what your up against is a common scenario.

Re: Team Balance, Really???
I think the kill cam on only exacerbates the problem (yet another crappy thing about "vanilla" BF3).
