I don't know what tools admins might have, I can only go on what I have seen. So I want to know what you folks have seen.

Are you seeing pub traffic/random connects on our servers?

We has some okay population counts on the AK server days ago but it seemed like alot of regs.

What about you folks?

We seem to have about 25 regs that play and about 15-20 that play on regular basis. We get maybe 1-3 random connects that join us on any given night. The server seems to begin populating players around 7:00 ish central time and is dead around 10-11 ish. If primers join the AK server the non XP server sits empty all night. Conversely if we prime the non XP the AK server stays empty all night.

So custom settings definitely don't seem to be picking up the random connects. It is the same core of regs playing. Sure you get a few random connects, but not the volume we used to see. Our main problem is we just don't have the large group of regs playing. We've lost some to other games. We've lost others to other servers (people who prefer normal mode). If we really wanted to bump random connects there is a 'QuickConnect' setting that is basically normal with some very specific settings for the optional settings. (Ones that can vary.)

I agree Wile. Give it a shot.....we dont have as many regs as we used to but we still have a nice bunch. If I'm not priming, I'll join if I see others on TPG.

No random connects tonight... Starting to think there is a bigger issue than settings... Didn't dice have a retarded system where our server never was seen? Here's a dumb idea: change server name to "A team player gaming server" so we show up in the early searches because of its alphabetically commendable name...

I'm going to say that what ever I do must be what other folks do.

I filter servers by region and nothing else, then organize by population. I think everyone knows the server browser is shit and will limit what they use to search by.

I don't forsee a name change making all that big of a difference.

Now what's important to consider here is we have two servers. While they differ in ping because of location and there for aren't as open to the same populations regions, they are mostly identical. Which means we can run different setting styles to explore what works best twice as fast. A normal and a Harcore. Normal with limited changes vs a full custom. Vanilla vs Ak, Vanilla vs AK/QC.

Additionally we can generate an active regular list and split it into two parties to prime a certain server. While I think it shouldn't be to offical, means you should never be found on the main server if your an AK primer, with 5 on the main and 0 on the AK. I think having people signed up for a certain server will add a personal incentive to help their prime server.

We have an issue of the first server primed is typically the only one that sees action.
