Hmmm...well I'm going to take Nuckle and Warprosper up on the DayZ. Maybe that would fill the PR void.

What do you think Scott...how does it compare and why don't you play BF3 anymore?

My reasons for not playing BF3 are political in nature, its a small statement. I refuse to support a game that never lived up to the expectations of the BF2 community, and was engineered from the beginning to fleece the player base with DLC after DLC to keep the game fresh. Had it been designed around the core BF2 gameplay but dressed up with Frostbite, we would not be having this discussion! The game would be fresh by its very nature. I played the game until what i paid a fair price for became obsolete in the eyes of EA. EA will get not another dime from me.

On to DayZ. It is every bit as tactical as PR and the ramifications of a bad move are far more severe than with PR. For example.... if you crash the chopper, it doesn't re spawn in 15 minutes.... or 15 hours.... more like days before you might see it again. Not to mention if you get killed, you are back to square one, no gun and just a band aid. There is some serious bond building too in DayZ. When rolling as a group you really rely on the eyes and ears of your partners, save a guy who had no idea he was about to get whacked and yeah, some bonds form.

Right now its missing some of the cooler things in PR like FOBs, fixed gun emplacements and the like, but those things are slated for the stand alone later this year.

Anyway its worth the money for DayZ alone and there are other missions that come with the original game that you will find appealing as well im sure. BTW, with DayZ commander out there now, installing and running the mod is no where near the nightmare it was 8 months ago. Its actually quite easy now.

Carl don't listen to this dribble. Scotts wants to be one of the select few I haven't stabbed in the Heart and jacked their Tags.

I'm with you, but I am taking a different angle. I will play 'vanilla' BF3... I have a real problem with not using something I paid for... I don't own any of the DLC (other than Karkand and I got that free with pre-order). I have no plans on buying BF3 Premium or any of the DLC packs individually and won't be giving EA/DICE my money for any future Battlefield titles.

hmmm ... I thought he was apologizing for the horrible spelling!

No worries Carl, I know you only mean to do it half of the time! I do empathize with the red/green thing. It is hard to see those dots at higher resolution. IF DICE ever listens to people they'll work to make the map bigger and more readable.

Late to the party I am ... you shot just fine over the weekend.

My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.
God grant that I may not be found wanting, that I will not fail this sacred trust.

    "bite my shiny metal ...!"

    there are many other servers
... NONE like TPG, the epicenter of team play!

I'll download this tonight and give it a shot...15 hrs for a chopper and no weapons, heck I'm already use to that.

Can I game with you guys and join easily? What mod are they talking about? What do I actually purchase?
