Snipers definitely add to a squad's capabilities, but they're only good for defense most of the time.

Re: Sniper?
all this thread....... snipers ? ...... good one and bad ones but bottom line......... they are usefull and dangerous........ Can they control a battlefield where you have to keep moving and securing objectives,,,?
attacking or defending, a few snipers in a fast action position are gonna give their position away with a shot and bullet hit ground for dust or sound or direction or something, his position has been compromised....... he is no longer hidden.......A SL squad leader and his squad just allerted and they adapt together....ok now they know each other are there, ok............
squad is either gonna kill him or hold him at bay,,,,,,and finish their objective while keeping an eye on sniper crew over, until they are no longer part of the mission or are not a threat to the objective anymore.....
end of facts.

Today, 63 years ago, the largest amphibious attack was held.155,000 Allied troops were sent on this mission into Normandy. Many good souls were lost in this day just so that we could have a future.Today we honor and remember these people who lost their lives on those shores of Normandy.
