    Re: The train wreck

Man I didn't even know about the vehicle thing in armored kill (I really havent been playing bf3 very much since i bought it because it just wasnt as fun I thought it should be). The fact that they removed that part of the amored kill ad after somebody pointed it out is pretty shady haha. But I still remeber it taking them forever to fix stuff in BF2 as well so it's not too suprising.

Maybe I'm just simple minded, but I have shit tons of fun playing this game. I won't call anyone a whiner, but it is annoying to hear people sound like an elitist gamer (for lack of a better term) and just bash every little thing about the game regardless of what it is.

Maybe EA is a shit hole company and maybe BF 3 to some is garbage, but all I know is this: I buy games to have hours upon hours of fun, and that's what BF3 gives me. So I can't complain.

What little I've played of it I thought it was fun. It isn't, however, battlefield 2 or what I would call a proper successor to it. BF2 is still the pinnacle of the battlefield series. Everything since has been a watered down version for console players.

I think we all need to keep this in mind. I know I have over 200 hours logged. So I can not state that I haven't enjoyed BF3, because I have. But as Kanati stated, this is not a true successor to BF2 and fits the leasTt in the main stream BF series. There was a specific play style that made 1942 a battlefield game. The same style rolled into Vietnam, BF2, and 2142. Yet so much money was being made on CoD, EA wanted in and began the off shoot style that gave us BC1,2, BFF2P, and the other web based BF. They brought it back a bit to the real BF game style with BF3, but brought to much CoD style over from BC. Depending on where they go with BF4, we have to ask ourselves if we want to CoD of BF when they are the same game with a different lable. Do you want coke a cola or coke a cola made with mexican cane sugar?

Though I would feel alot better if we had B2K maps back on our server.

I was playing Gulf of Oman (for BF3) last night. The entire time all I could think about were all the hours on the TPG BF2 server on that same map.

I will agree, BF3 does have a COD feel to it sometimes. Although I do like the squad perks and the scoring system.

Now I want to play some bf2.

I wonder how well that would go over these days?

Damn, they still want 32 bux a month for a 32 player ranked bf2 server. Sigh...

    Re: The train wreck

If you were to do a comparison between Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, you would probably be shocked to discover that most of the additions or subtractions made the game much more like the Call of Duty series than Battlefield 2, the supposed predecessor (65).
Yep ... DICE/EA really screwed the pooch here. Their only hope is that those people will buy into the hype and purchase their new products without any reflection or prior experience with the franchise. I will not purchase the "premium" package and I don't plan on purchasing BF4. IF BF4 doesn't have VOIP or a commander, the likelihood that I will buy the game is slim. There are many other games with VOIP that are as enjoyable.

myth1485 has recounted what we already knew ... fine sourcing though.

Shouldn't it be possible to run an unranked server without paying that $$

    ?
