RE: Server Move
From WilE's post:
The remaining servers in Dallas will be migrating to a new box Thursday, April 4. This means IPs will be changing. Please keep an eye on the server monitor side block for updates.
The old Dallas box will go dark Friday at midnight.

The BF3 server itself is not moving. We do not host BF3 on one of our mega servers from hypernia due to restrictions by EA/DICE... What is moving is the TeamSpeak server. So the ping of our BF3 server likely won't change unless the network fairies decide to grace us with better routing. The new server is in Dallas (like the old one). It's just a newer box, with more horsepower.

Re: Server Move
I haven't, but it is unlikely that EA has changed. From a technological match making perspective, I understand why they only allow for quick match connections to occur for servers with only the stock maps. Lowest common denominator being the stock maps. Otherwise you can have people without the stock maps trying to connect to the ones with it, and getting error messages. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Re: Server Move
I'll make as many jokes about EA's technical abilities as anyone, but the suggestion that they could not code in a routine to check first which maps someone has installed before tossing them in a made match is unrealistic. There is no real reason that it cannot make this work for us.
Server owners that pay $X hundred per year should be able to run the DLC matches without being devoid of play.
