Now, the reason we don't already have these maps is if someone doesn't own the XP pack, they can't join a server that has them on the rotation even if a core map is underway.

Additionally, we saw issues with getting random connects with any of the XP packs installed on our servers. Something to do with EA's crappy quick match system.

So, now that the main reason has been removed with CQ being free to all, we have to ask each other, are these maps a good move for the server?

Consider;

These are small maps.

Fresh maps can bring new life to players.

Would we go conquest only, or is gun master a good mix up along side rush?

These can likely only go on the small (32) server that switches at 24 players.

There are different types of gun master games.

CQ maps are 16 player maps...

I don't really know about these maps. They might be good for a prime, but eh not some of the best. Toss up really.

They've got some specialized modes to them... TDM "Close Quarters" whatever that means, Conquest Domination, Gun master and Squad Deathmatch... Not sure that necessarily fits the mold for TPG or not...

Near as I can see, Conquest Domination is like a hybrid of TDM & Conquest. The more flags your team controls, the more spawn points you have...

Death match is the reverse of Conquest, no flags and the ticket counter starts at zero and goes up. It's all about gettng the most kills.

SDM is were a group of 4 take on all the other squads of 4 in a battle royal. Same rules, no flags, most kills wins.

Yeah... from what I remember when CQ was first out, it was hard to get the server primed with CQ maps.

Went through the hoops to add a poll, not sure why it didn't show up.

Um yea, but was it because folks here didn't have it or because the maps suck?

I do think a small map with a handful of people, and one or two killing machines would seal the servers fate fast.

I think the maps/modes just aren't TPG's cup of tea. Wish they would have made one of the other 3 expansions free for all...

End Game maps would have been a welcome addition. They really were some of the better large maps.

To be honest I really think this mentality is killing TPG slowly. We need to stop being afraid to try new things rather then digging our TPG niche deeper and deeper, secluding ourselves from sooo many possible players. We can implement the TPG style and teamplay on any mode that Battlefield provides. Just because it's more of a deathmatch than "teamplay strategy" doesn't mean that we can't support it on the server.

I mean don't we want populated servers? Or is everyone fine with empty servers, except during prime time. I don't know, that's just my opinion Wile and I hope I didn't come off rude, because I didn't mean any disrespect towards you or TPG. It is just my belief TPG could be doing a lot better then it is if we stopped being so narrow-minded. Nothing is going to be easy or smooth, but that doesn't mean we should settle for average and what worked 16 years ago for this community.
