Ping limit?

Just out of curiosity, has the ping limit been decreased recently? As far as I'm aware the limit was decreased to 250 a few months ago, and every now and then I would be kicked for a lag spike, but now having been kicked three times for pings of 224,224 and 225 respectively, it seems to me that the limit has been lowered further.

The limit was lowered because we had a run of a lot people with 200+ ms pings and the server lags worse when we have higher latency players connected.

Roughly how many people did you have running a ping of 200+ out of 64 players, on average?

Before we had the ping kicker there was usually about 4-5 that I could remember.

It only takes 1 person with a high ping to adversely affect the entire server. We've had some network issues with our server host of late, so it's been more pronounced an issue than we usually experience.

I doubt very much that it only takes one person with a high ping to "adversely affect the entire server." This is nothing but an unsubstantiated myth. I've seen 5-6 people on at the same time with pings of around 200 (including myself) and neither my friends or I have noticed any disruption at all. I would wager that it has more to do with the way the server is configured than anything else. Otherwise why would most other American servers allow 3 digit pings where suddenly you guys don't?

Yeah well, those with the high pings really wouldn't notice an issue. We have plenty of regular players with 3-digit pings but very few, if any, with 200+ms pings. You're the lone person to really complain.

I'm acutely aware that players with 200+ pings may not notice any issue. Perhaps I should have made it clear that the friends I referred to earlier have <100 pings. They have noticed no irregularities with a handful of people with pings over 200.
