Should have no problem financially backing two servers. The question is whether we can support them with players. Rarely in TPG's history have we ever successfully pulled off two servers of anything. The main argument being that with different style servers, we can appeal to a wider player base. Its happened sure, but it can also hurt, especially having a hardcore and softcore, we'll split the admins and the regs up by allowing them to affliate with their gamesyle preference. As opposed to two idenical servers, where'd they were go to which ever server needed the help, instead they'll wait in line to go to their prefered server (not to mention preference of playing with which ever server their friends are on)...

We are talking about 64 player servers, right?

They're more asking if we'll support all the future DLC that is release, which is as you already pointed out segregation. The haves vs the have nots. If we have 1 server I can guarantee we most likely will NOT support DLC. If we have 2... that might be a point for discussion, but the players here would need to support both servers equally... otherwise... it's pointless.

You know me. When we had the 2nd server I was always on that first trying to prime it, since I knew the first one wouldn't have a problem.

And yet... the only server that ever got going was the DLC server... because the regs all stubbornly primed that one. Or we ended up with 6 people on 1 server and about 15-20 on the other.

Well if it caused the DLC to get going as you say, I'd consider that a good thing. Much rather have a server that includes the DLCs going than a vanilla one going.

It never really got 'going'. Most nights the servers never got past half full. When you pay by the slot... that's not so great...

I can confirm that. No matter how long we played the server almost never got full. There are so many things that could change that in BF4 though. Gehn might be onto something who knows? We simply just don't know enough about the game yet and how people will play it. However if the past is any indication it has proven to not be conducive to our servers health by having extra payed content on it.

EA has promised server browser changes. Let's just hope they're for the better.
