    You can't base rape the enemy uncap, like you could in BF2. That was a valid and usually effective tactic. By "assets" he is talking about the Commander's UAV, artillary, vehicles, and scan thinger. Taking out the CO's eyes, as well as the CO himself was a GREAT part of BF2, and it's unfortunate that it isn't a part of BF4.

    He also is upset that you can't place attack markers in precise spots. This was a great way to tell your squad which direction to attack from, or where the enemy was, or a multitude of other reasons to highlight a particular spot on the BF. It is also unfortunate that isn't included in BF4.

    Deal breakers.....hardly. Would they be nice to have.....certainly.

    I was talking with Kanati about being able to attack the enemy base last night. I am not a fan of it because I like to take every flag, then kill all enemy players the second they spawn, although that can be fun, but because, as Dex has mentioned, it can be a very valid tactic. Some of the best strats in BF2 were to have an accomplished SL take a jet to the enemy HQ, bail, and then spawn 5 furious arseholes out of his pockets. If the enemy has to constantly send players back to their base to protect their CO and his toys that is less people out capping flags for them.

    To that I say use your words then if you want your squad to attack a certain way or tell them where the enemy is. I mean VOIP ain't there for nothin folks. But I can see what he is talking about I don't miss it but at the same time people can be down right clueless and need a visual as well as auditory aid in the midst of a raging engagement. As for base raping well taking away assets like tanks planes and helis isn't impossible and by the very nature of your team working together and taking flags has an instant effect on the enemy commanders ability to be effective in the battle. Now that's not BF2/2142 style but it's something different and new that motivates team play which in my opinion is always a good thing. I even still with that thought some how wish it was like it is in BF2 though just so I can be a dick and destroy everything with my C4 again :P.

    I actually consider having commanders on the field to be poor design so I'm glad it is no longer like that. As far as being able to steal and destroy commander assets, looks like that is possible! It looks like in BF4 from the articles and videos you get 3 assets as a commander that can't be taken, but all the rest of your commander assets are tied to the points you hold, which I think is great since it helps to keep the focus on the points.

    If a recon class uses the PLD (Personal Laser Designator) on a vehicle, the RPG can lock on the vehicle and follow it.
