Thread: BF4 Updates coming...

(Nov 12) Known BF4 I - Forums - Battlelog / Battlefield 4

Maintenance downtime (All platforms)
Nov 13, we have a planned maintenance starting at 9AM UTC/1AM PST. The maintenance will last for 2-3 hours and multiplayer for Battlefield 4 will be unavailable on all platforms in increments during this window. This maintenance is done in preparation for the upcoming client patches.

Client patch (PC)
The PC client patch for Battlefield 4 will go live in the near future and fixes a number of different issues you have helped us to identify, including a number of the most common crashes and freezes. We will get back to you with a full fix list and a specific date for this update soon.

inb4 people that are bitching about BF4 crashing and locking up switch to bitching about it being down for maintenance to try and fix said crashes...

They're usually pretty good about having their maintenance windows at a time when it impacts the fewest folks. It also helps that they do maintenance during business hours in Stockholm... so there's people who can address issues that arise... unlike Valve who decides to throw an update up at 5pm Pacific on a Friday...

Thats what Im used to, so I just naturally assumed thats when it would be.

Good to hear that EA has the machine fired-up. Back in the 2142/Bf2 days, we would wait months and years for a single patch that would magically fix everything, but break 25 other things. Nice to see that tradition ending.

Might be a bit premature. We don't know if said patch will fix anything and we don't know what it will break.

At least it's coming in a timely manner.

And I'm certain it will break other things. Hopefully, they are minor. Expect the worst, but hope for the best, and just be happy that people are actively trying to push all the right buttons, I guess.

Gotta agree so that's 7 server patches and 2 or 3 client so so far, I'm pretty sure that's amazing response... I hope they resolve some of my issues, save me buying a mobo/CPU...

They've also been working in logic for the client & server to report back in when crashes occur. This helps them narrow down common issues so they can address the common issues first and fix the most people with the least amount of effort.
