From Max's original post, it sounds like he moves and fires a lot, in which case the Stubby/Angled will do him no good. Only the PDWs and Carbines have good enough base moving accuracy to get away with not using an Ergo grip. Assault Rifles are bulky enough that they need an Ergo to maintain accuracy while moving (just remember my post up above about moving with bullpups).
As for attachments, the Muzzle Brake reduces vertical recoil by 20%. The Compensator reduces both left and right recoil by 20%. Both the Muzzle Brake and the Compensator increase the amount of accuracy you lose per shot, so limit yourself to 3-5 shot bursts to avoid complete accuracy loss. The Stubby does the opposite: it decrease the amount of accuracy you lose per shot.
The Heavy Barrel doubles your base accuracy (NOT your moving accuracy, that stays the same. You need an ergo grip to improve your moving accuracy), and is a 1.5x to your base vertical recoil."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Re: Low recoil guns... help! Cant kill like bf3.
So recap... I picked up a few different guns and these are the ones I fell in love with. Now remember I'm talking easier to use (more stable) if you want the best kills best head to the sympatico site.
My assault rifle of choice is the L85A2. I use this with a kobra or HD33, potato or angled grip and i use the tri laser (feel like predator!). I loved this gun because in close combat full auto in the chest is deadly, medium range is good a few burst shots kill and long range single fire mode will kill people off with relative ease.
Engineer guns are famously meh, I barely touched the base weapons and went into carbines for this class... So I know this choice is a cheat: Mtar21, angled grip, silencer, hd33 and laser. I love the speed it kills in, and when its silenced it really helps engineers sneak up on vehicles.
Support guns are relatively new to me as I only now have started playing with them. L88 with basic attachments is amazing. With a double burst tap you kill fast, it'll own so many points for you. I can't help feel we'll see more and more "killer" players playing with support guns.
Snipers whatever gun seems to be great - I like pickup one shot one best lol.

Ironically you chose the hardest to control weapons out of the Carbine and Assault Rifle groups, statistically. The big reason that I don't use the belt-fed LMGs and GPGMGs is that they have absolutely horrendous moving penalties and hip fire. If you get caught at close range with a Type 88, good luck outshooting someone with any PDW or a higher ROF Carbine.
I always have and always will be a huge fan of the QBZ series. They blend very low all around recoil with above average bullet speeds and a bullpup form factor to help with hip fire and firing on the move. Sure they have some of the longest reload times, but when you can slap a 4x and a heavy barrel, and put a 3 round burst and hit all 3 on someone at 75 meters away? You pretty much won't get caught reloading."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

The QBB-95 holds 80+1 rounds. It has a longer reload time to compensate, but it strikes a good balance between the belt feds and the RPK-74, RPK-12, and U-100. Plus it has 0.25 spread, the same as the bullpup assault rifles, while the belt feds have Carbine accuracy when not deployed.

I also think the ACE is up your alley. In my mind, it's got what the m16A4 had in bf3. It's the sweet spot between damage, rate of fire, and stability. After watching a jackfrags video and deciding to give it a go, my kdr jumped from 1:1 to 2:1 almost every round and sometimes even 3:1. It's almost hax in my opinion, the gun performs great even naked without a grip, compensator, or sight.
I consider myself a fairly average battlefield player by TPG standards, usually in the upper middle scoreboard - but by switching to the ACE, I'm in and around the top spots much more often. Granted kdr isn't as important as team play, but why not have both?

Ace is definitely a good rifle for low recoil and the ability the take targets out with a few short bursts. The ak 12 believe it or not is not too bad either, specially when you unlock a lot of the accessories. So far those two have been my goto assault class weapons. I am planning on dipping into the scar and famas to see if I can get to like those. After all, if you can control recoil on a famas..it's got a hell of a fire rate, theoretically you could beat everyone down quick at cqb.

I used the ace 23 a ton and I liked it but honestly the aek is a more fun rifle. I loved it tonight and forgot about upgrading it - I found it easier to handle too, I guess I'm adjusting a bit to the mechanics now lol.

You should also try adding a muzzle break. I almost always went with a heavy barrel, but have been having better luck with the muzzle break/compensator.
