New GPU Installed
I played the BF4 single player for about 30min last night, nice and smooth. I may get brave and jump into multiplayer late tonight after I get some more play time in single player.
I jumped into the training grounds for a bit last night too and farted around in an attack chopper; are they really that easy to fly?!
BF2 choppers weren't so stable (didn't play bf3, not enough emphasis on team playing.).

Re: New GPU Installed
Got into multiplayer tonight. It's fun!
I had some issues with client side lag, I think my graphics are up to high so I'll try reconfiguring them tomorrow. And I reconfigured my audio and it was throwing me off.
All in all I got a little over 8k points in my first hour of multiplayer so I'm happy with that.
I look forward to playing with you all again soon!

Virtually the same card as me. I don't run Battlefield 4 with any special tweaks. With my 7870, I'm almost 100% of the time CPU limited. I get 60fps at all times unless there's a Levolution going on or an EXTREME amount of crap going on. Here are my settings:
Texture Quality: Ultra
Texture Filtering: Ultra
Lighting Quality: Medium
Effects Quality: Medium
Mesh Quality: Ultra (CPU-limited feature. Turn down if necessary)
Terrain Quality: Low
Terrain Decoration: Low (For the two terrain settings, I can't tell the difference between Low and Ultra, so I just assume Low is faster)
Antialiasing Deferred: 2x MSAA
Antialiasing Post: Off
Ambient Occlusion: SSAO (HBAO is very destructive to the 7870, so stick with SSAO)
You don't need to mess with Motion Blur settings because it doesn't activate until High in Post Process Quality. I run the game in Windowed Borderless, but Fullscreen works just fine too. I also play with Vertical Sync off, but with the frame limiter set to 60. Look up "BF4 Frame Limiter" to set up a user.cfg file to limit to 60.
Also, don't touch Resolution Scale. Upping that while having Antialiasing on causes some wierd behavior that completely crushes my 7870.grayman liked this post

Re: New GPU Installed
There's a video posted somewhere on our site that has a lot of video tweaks to get a lot of performance out of BF4. Unfortunately I can't find it.
The lighting effects, antialiasing and ambient occlusion are some of the biggest hits on performance.
Texture Quality: High
Texture Filtering: High
Lighting Quality: Medium
Effects Quality: Medium
Mesh Quality: High
Terrain Quality: High
Terrain Decoration: High
Antialiasing Deferred: Off
Antialiasing Post: Low
Ambient Occlusion: SSAO
I'm pretty happy with how the game looks and the FPS that I'm getting. I like to have a balance between graphics quality and performance. For me, the difference in quality between high and ultra isn't worth the extra performance hit so I'd rather take the few FPS boost.grayman liked this post

Re: New GPU Installed
Apparently, it's important to have mesh up as high as possible.
Graphics settings and how they affect FPS - Battlefield 4: General discussion - Symthic Forum
Explanation on all the settings but not sure if it's 100% accurate. The FPS changes mentioned should only be taken as a guide.
