Re: Team Scramble Plugin
funny part is some of the best games I have had since we implemented this in January is getting rolled one round then the server completely gets scrambled and everyone ends up in new squads. Some people move around but about 60 seconds in everyone is settled into the new sides. I typically stay where I get put and try to get to know the new players. Some are dead weight and I end up with a headache. Others however are actually on voip saying how they got rolled or did the rolling the previous round and they talk about strategies they used and they actually start communicating.....next thing you know I drop the "hey squad lead I think we got trounced last round due to lack of objective and direction, where do you want us to go?" That is normally followed by a silence until someone realizes they are the squad lead and they ask how to set an order. From there, its all gravy. We have gotten rolled 1 game, scrambled and had a following match within 50 tickets. One epic match came down to 3 ticket difference in the end. We all take the initiative to teach those that haven't rage quit the ropes and in the end it has been a positive experience overall. I am seeing more repeat visitors and more consistent matches.

Totally different animal in BF4. In BF2... sure you lost your squad, but you had the same teammates every round. So you just re-formed your squad. In BF4, with the scramble plugin you not only get separated from your squad, but you also get thrown into a different pool of players. You don't have the luxury of re-forming the same squad (or close to it).
If everyone is really so concerned about balance on the servers, why not just turn on the full functionality of the MULTIbalance plugin. It moves people around during the round to keep the round scores close...

"Fair" and "team balance" have been a problem since dinosaurs walked the earth. The problem is some people say "if the rounds aren't close I will leave" others say "I don't care if the rounds are close if I can't stay in a squad with my friends then I will leave". If any of you have a plan on how we please both parties we are all ears.

My experience the other night was the complete opposite. I lost almost every round I participated in. I was in a squad with people on VOIP one round... got trounced by 300 tickets... next round I'm in with 3 people who have VOIP disabled and a squad leader who wasn't setting objectives, even when prompted on VOIP. With experiences like that... TPG is no different than any of the other faceless servers out there. I have as much of a chance enjoying playing on a random server as I do TPG... that's a problem.

Gamers today would rather play with their friends than anything else. If I'm with a squad of people working together... win or lose.. I typically have an enjoyable time. Blowouts can get old, yes, but if every round I'm getting shoved in with a bunch of people who don't use VOIP, who don't set objectives, who don't work together as a team is worse in my opinion.
