Re: BF 4 BF 2 and the land of Candy crush Saga

    Hi all,
The comments I made were my first reaction to BF 4 after so many years of BF 2.

I stand by my first assessment with really all I have said. The guy's that have designed the game have in a way admitted that the commander and /squad functionality falls short. I would say in squad terms a little and the commander may as well not be there.

It's nice to see deathgodusmc again. A great player and i always enjoyed playing with him. I really hope he comes back. I bought on download the game for 19.99. The premium I payed 50 for I think. 49.99 or some such. How ever origin have 20% off at the moment and you can pick up the premium now for 39.99 giving you that 60 bucks. I think that is not a bad price if they sort out the commander/ squad issues and of course I still believe that the flags are too close together.

These guys have always listened to the community and I know that we can all find things to gripe about. I bought BF 2 when it first came out and was one of the first online. The severs were pretty much the same then. I noted in one post that they have sold many copies but the action online is scarce. I am quite sure that if they put the effort in to tweak this to were it should be then this could be a very good game in deed. Although I find it lacking in areas I can say that for the most part I enjoy playing it.

Bf 2 it is not. But I have a feeling that if they listen to the community this game has the potential to be better.

So really gentlemen the louder you shout and make your opinions known the greater chance we have of a great game.

Looking at other community forums I see the same kind of gripes from people and that bodes well for change.

I hope i see a lot more of the old faces coming back.

ohhh and I did try to rape after my original post ....and you are quite right...you cannot.

One thing you should be aware of, Millwall, is that teamplay is at least designed into the game's point system.

A squad leader gets more points if he throws down an attack order, and his/her squad gains or retains the flag that has the order on it. Squad members also get more points for following the squad leader's orders.

Squad members also get more points for reviving and arming squadmates than they do for those outside the squad. Same goes for killing an enemy that is shooting at one of your squadmates (Savior somethingorother), or has recently killed one of your squadmates (Payback). I'm sure there are some ways that I am missing, but the point that the game is designed with teamplay in mind stands. Sticking with your squad and following orders will get you more points than not playing with your squad.

and that is what surprises me Dex....I throw med packs around as much as I can and I get shot a lot because I am trying to revive my squad.....I do not see many players doing this (team players not included in this comment). They are more intent in getting those kills. Do not get me wrong. I play this game to kill the opposition....but the squad comes first.

I agree team play is at the core of the design. The point I was trying to make is there is room for improvement. Bf 2 took a lot of updates until it got to were it was and this game after the next patch will be a whole different ball game from what I have read.

Any way I cut it. I am glad I am back playing and all in all this is a good game. I am really looking for the forth coming changes and I believe they are needed.

Great playing with you again Dex. Hope to see you on the field.....now....lets see if i can help prime the server.....Long live BF 4!.

Really the failure of those that followed is simple to figure out. BF2 was the ultimate game because it was more like combat. Sometimes one shot is a kill shot and sometimes it take 3 or 4 but it never really takes 7 hits to put someone down. There is no time out zone in combat which is why base raping was so effective at disrupting enemy movements. Really all they had to do was update weapons vehicles, put the better graphics in, and give new maps. If they had done that with the releases after bf2 they would have been successes but they didn't so the only success was to their bank account.

And another thing that irritates me is never running out of sprint. Anyone thats carried that shit knows your not running for long with all that shit. Yeah it was a pain in the ass in bf2 but it was more realistic. Why bother having a sprint if it never runs out?

And for my 3rd edit i'll say bf4 wasn't made to attract more players. It was made to attract more people to buy it. When they made bf2 it was about getting people to play but they abandoned that idea after how successful it was. There's no money in people playing the same game for 7 years.
