Post Patch Gun Choice Changes
Lately I have been going back to different guns that I didn't use that much often before the patch to see whats what with them post patch and I have to say I am loving the AR160 and the DMRs a lot more than before. Here is a video of some guns you might want to try again by Matimio. Personally the L86 isn't my cup of tea but its still a good gun.

Re: Post Patch Gun Choice Changes
I've been trying weapons again, here's what I find...
L85A2 - Amazing, there are better rifles but this one is and will probably always be a Goto gun for me.
Famas - superb but that reload time makes this gun a pain in the ass.
Aek - beast, more bullets less time, faster. Nuff said.
SR2 - once again the only pdw I play with. It's an amazing gun, now gets kills at further ranges.
Carbines I find have a distinct lack of interest for me (suggestions would be appreciated).
Mg4 - my new(old) beast gun. Been doing some seriously sneaky shit with this, it hits like a mack truck.
I found the other lmgs pretty pale compared to the mg4.
gol - I only use this so that's the only rifle I know. A little slower to fire, but I use a silencer 99% of the time so by the time they figure it out they be deaded .
Dmrs are fun again, sks, scar and ace are amazing.
Biggest improvement of patch? Defibs. I actually use them again as the triage makes it something worth doing again, and the defibs recharge while you are running with them.
Classic mode is the Icing on the cake.
Very good patch, now I'm adapting to the additions and when my network is working correctly, I enjoy this game allot!dex71 liked this post

As everyone knows, I used the AR-160 for a while after the patch came out. It's probably the most well-balanced gun in the game, and we have the symthic community to thank for it. Its horizontal recoil is just high enough that the CZ-805 and QBZ-95/SAR-21 can do better than it at longer ranges. Meanwhile, it's 700RPM without the bullpup bonus, hamstringing it at close range. Balance.
The A-91 which I used before the patch is even more of a monster at close range now. Thanks to the horizontal recoil buffs, it can now reach out reasonably to medium range without feeling like you're just flinging rocks.
The LSAT and QBB-95 are pretty absurd. The moving accuracy buffs make the two pretty competetive with assault rifles, on top of having a slightly better damage model and much larger magazines (box in the LSAT's case).
The SR .338 is a fun toy. With the spread increase per shot reduced so drastically, and me finally getting the PKS-07, this thing wrecks people at long range. Great sniper deterrent, and if they sit still for more than a second you can land all three shots at max speed easily.
The biggest improvement I've found though is in the pistols, but that's probably because their damage models didn't change in relation to the PDWs and Rifles. The decoupling of red dots from the sights has made the 1911 my new favorite pistol. Three hits to put someone down at close range with enough speed, accuracy, and punch to make someone think twice at medium range.dex71 liked this post

Re: Post Patch Gun Choice Changes
Pre-patch I was determined to get better at things I wasn't good at in the game so I chose DMR's and sniping. I mastered sniping and then moved to DMR's and shit was hard for me. I am not a patient player most of the time and you really have to rethink the way you play with DMR's but I slowly began to figure it out. After the patch though it became super easy and I can even win up close with DMR's. Still wouldn't use them on lockers or metro though.
