At this rate I'm starting to doubt that we'll ever get 40 people. Hate to say this but I'm sure the random teams is a huge turn-off for most people. I understand the fear of all the best players making the Dream Team, but at the same time I really don't see any of them teaming up together in the first place. I can personally say I wouldn't intend to team up with any of them.

I dont know, I feel like this should be up to discussion before assuming everyone would be against the concept of chosen squad mates from the start.

A draft system seems like the best of both worlds. If you have an alternative, this is an INTEREST thread, so speak up.

My thoughts are thus,

I don't think we're going to get the 44ish people I need to get this thing going right which ultimately makes the point of random teams irrelevant. BUT, if we did get that many, regardless of how some of the more skilled players might feel, that or a draft really is the only way to get a fun, exciting tournament. Otherwise you and I both know Chray that that shit will be very predictable. Again we don't have enough people so its a moot point.

Kanati mentioned it earlier and I kind of figured this would happen but what I propose as an alternative is to have a 4 team tournament but with a slightly different setup than I initially envisioned:


- Choose your own teams
- Four teams, every team plays each other once. If we get more teams, with a point system I guess we can just expand.
- 1 point for every win, the team with the most points takes the tournament.
- If there is a tie after all the games have been played we can do a final match between the two teams.


Rest assured, with this tournament, someone is going to end up getting crushed but I guess it will be fun to see who (probably me). The reason I would switch to "choose your own team" is because with this few people signing up (disheartening), it will be hard to get parity anyway so we might as well go full bore and allow people to pick their teams. It would be much better to pick your teams from the existing list so that the people who signed up can get in on it. At this point we should have enough for at LEAST four teams plus alternates. I'm a little bummed that more people haven't signed up but it is what it is. I still think a small tournament could be fun but if there is no interest then there is no interest.

Anyhow, thoughts?

I don't know if format has been discussed but what about picking teams or doing a draft, then have everyone on a squad deathmatch server all at once, go through a few maps and count up the wins/kills?
- Slayer award - most kills
- MVP award for player with most kills above 2nd place in squad
I don't really play any other game modes so I'm not sure what else is available. Rush?

I think that the organizer needs to appoint team captains for this. The captains need to be the top skilled people on the servers. Don't wanna have a team full of crazy good players.
