Thread: The NoM Illustration

In early 2015 I commissioned a dude to draw an illustration of everyone in the NoM clan. The idea was to draw each of us as our favorite BF4 character based on photos and screenshots that I provided him. Whatever outfit, gun or accessory the person is holding was based on their preference. This is super nerdy I know, but I figured we've been playing with each other for a really long time, for some of us, coming up on a decade. We play video games with each other almost every week and at some point we'll stop playing BF4 or games entirely and pretty much never speak to each other again. I figured it would be nice to remember the friends we spent so much time in this dumb game with!

There was a ton of back and forth with the guy over something like 14 months and ultimately the project was never completed because he bit off more than he could chew. However, he did get as far as drawing up the black and white sketches of everyone and even started the coloring on four of us (minus Schmo's arm). The final version would have been much nicer with full color and a nice background based on the Rogue Transmission map but alas, this is the best he could do. At the time, I was thinking he'd finish this one and then I'd organize a TPG wide illustration but it doesn't look like that will happen (I was so looking forward to a drawing of Dex ice fishing while shooting at Loki or something). Still, I'm going to try to see if I can find someone that will finish the color on this illustration but for now, I think this is still pretty hilarious.

Most of the accessory choices seem spot on. Warprosper riding a rocket and Vis SCREAMING INTO HIS MICROPHONE are both perfect.

You really need the PSD to do the coloring RIGHT. You actually have to get rid of the white and drop a white layer UNDER it. But with the greyscale pencils/drawing on top of white already, it's really hard to get rid of the white.

Without the PSD with transparent layer pencils... the drawing really needs to be redrawn from scratch.

FINISH IT!!!
