Re: BF1
And everyone was taking the lack of mention on the ability to rent a server as meaning there would no such thing, see how that turned out.
For the hundredth time, I obviously can't predict how it will turn out, but honestly, I would like to know for what possible reason anyone would willingly burn $80 a month to rent a server they have no control over besides the game modes being run and giving it the name you want. Nobody would waste their money on that shit.

Re: BF1
This is what makes servers unrentable. So far, this is what we have been given....starting at least two weeks after the launch.
Dice has decided to cut ties with all of the gaming communities that have paid to host their servers for years.
I hope I am wrong, but so far, it's not looking like there will be a TPG server. If we can't govern it, help pay for it with slots, and choose where in the US the box is located, we are out. And again....at best....this all starts two weeks after the launch.

Re: BF1
And dude.....read the article. That is EXACTLY what happened. Dice will be the SOLE supplier of servers. They set the price (no more competition), they supply the support (fucking LOL), and they decide what we can and can't do.....with the latter list being A LOT longer than the former.

Re: BF1
However......It would be cool to see if we can get a BF2 and a 2142 server up and popping. Our ded box (that we have the ArmA and TS servers on) has enough horsepower to host SEVERAL BF2/2142 servers.
Hmmmmm. Maybe that is the direction we have to go.
It would be funny as Hell to see BF2 and 2142 suddenly outsell BF1 as other communities are forced down the same path. I doubt it, but it is funny to think about.Last edited by dex71; 10-07-16 at 05:16 PM.

Yes, I'm aware. It's just not what I was arguing over, nor why I quoted that post back to you in context to your previous post.
Again, assumptions... Whatever, I better stop now. Everyone's free to be as pessimistic and deathgody as they want. I'll keep my mouth shut until we have the complete information.
