Thread: War College Ribbon

Does anyone have the war college ribbon? How did you get it? Every award in the game seems eventually attainable but this one I don't see how anyone can get it. In fact the only way I can imagine someone going about getting this thing is to start a new soldier, apply for commander at every opportunity, and quit any loosing game before the round ends. Then once he's achieved the ribbon he can play the game as usual. Any comments...

My current win/loss is 232 /253 (0.92), so I'd have to win 274 straight victories to get my ratio up to a 2.0

AND take 60 hours of commanding to do so

AND once those requirements are filled, get a 45 command score (presumably before doubling), and win that round.

On this server, thankfully, that is all but impossible. The competition here is so fierce, you're almost never guaranteed a win, much less 300 straight wins.

But on other servers,generally those without auto team balance, you'll find many team switchers at the end of a round, working on getting that 2.0.

Me, personally, with my piddly 14 hours of commanding, and a 1.12 w/l record don't plan on going for this ribbon.

You don't need to obtain the wins purely as commander. But it does help the ego.

Its the time barrier that is more daunting. I've been taking the commander role more these days, partly as fulfilling some awards requirements that I can still get and more so because people aren't stepping up.

And after having helped form some really good squad leaders, the commander role has gotten a bit easier. Perhaps not the win or the points, but the role has gotten easier.

And isn't the war college ribbon the 80 hr requirement? There is one at 50 also.

No one has the War College Ribbon. A few had it on BF2 before they added the hours requirement, but no literally no one has it. Because 2:1 is just not feasible.

Yep, this has got to be the most unobtainable ribbon... Looking at other 2000 point ribbons, I see the Legion of Merit which I just obtained, the 10 kill streak was tough, but obtainable with a bit of work.. Valorous Service Ribbon another 2000 point just a matter of putting in the time really.. War College is the bane of many of our existances... *grumble*
