If I were to join a clan...

Where would I fit in best? Do the clans have a specific reason for being a clan, like physical location in the world? Or is it something else? There are many to choose from here, and I think I might like to join one, but I'm perplexed as to why to join one and which one I should join. I've noticed a lot of my friends here with clan sig's in front of their names in-game, but no idea what motivated them to join whichever one they did.

Are ALL of the "oldtimers" in here in a clan or are there some who refuse to join? Whatever the answer, why?

In case anyone was wondering, I still show the [TOG] tag because I belong, loosely, to The Older Gamers clan, which is headquartered in Australia, with a few remote sites around the world, two or three located right here in the good ole USA. But I'm probably going inactive in that clan as I can't get on they're servers because they are rarely there and open and also because the ping rate sucks ass because of the distance.

Well I'm a member of phoenix and pretty much its just a coollection of us, we tend to form closer bonds with each other and adds a more competitive angle in my mind(always fun to rag on your team mates when you know them from your clan). plus it can be a good way to practice and improve skills(in phoenix, we usually have weekly strategy meetings and clan practices)

in terms of the clans listed, Bigtex is good, decent people as far as i know(never seen any problems with em) mostly CS:S but appear to be expanding.

DooM is good, a lot more based around Air combat, but do fight on the ground too. Also about Teamwork.

Killers is mostly CS:S

and Phoenix is just BF2/PR, and based on mostly just working together as a team.

I just selected clan names that I have seen in BF2, and left the other option open in case there were ones that I missed or others from outside of TTP.

I am not in a clan, but like you have considered it. The best advice I can give you is what was given to me. Squad up with some of the resident/regular clans and see if you like their players and style. I have played with some of the Phoenix and Doom guys, as I am sure you have, and Idon't think you could go wrong with either.
