Re: Have you ever had one of those days ?
Grey, don't let it get you down. Sometimes you just need to stop playing for a little bit and try something else, i surf forums and play Warcraft III when i'm online but not on 2142.
We all go through the same thing, we've all got that invincible feeling one day, and then the whole: "Who put the damn target on me?" feeling the next. And as to the Purple Hearts, who gives a damn? This game is about enjoying yourself, don't let some multicolored pixels make you feel down, just say: "Fuck you computer," take a break, come back and then shoot someone in the head!

Re: Have you ever had one of those days ?
Wintersays, your right about that. I've been feeling that I have had a target on my ass for a couple of weeks now. I'll try a new game for awhile. I can't seem to Lead too well either. I'm really having a problem looking at the situation and making the right calls for my Squad as well. Yesterday, once again as Leader I let my Squad and Team down. That sucks the big one. Indecisiveness is not where you want to be. Laggy was giving orders and I kept thinking I was Squad three instead of Squad Five. Nothing seems to be working out lately. To Forquet and his son, spicedog1, DiabloEOD, and Baron I let you guys down. Sorry about that. And Laggy I let you down as well. We had that game on Sidi Plant won. But I could not get it together. I was like a chicken with his head cut off. Anyway, I'll be looking to going back to the basics.

Re: Have you ever had one of those days ?
Grey, blaming yourself is the first step in runing a game for yourself, blame other people. It works for me.
But you need to understand one thing. You let no one down, the game is about winning the match; it's not about personal scores or being invnincible, it's about doing your part to help your team win the game. Grey you may not be on the top of the charts every game, but you're still up there fighting on the front lines doing your part.
You're not a poor player if you get shot first, or you don't score the killing blow everytime. You're a damn good player because no matter how frustrated you get, you keep going back for more and pulling your own weight.

So true Winter.....
I may not be a top scorer or anywhere near it. But I know my sonars help my team out and I'll never get credit for it.
I'll pull out my recon drone as a squad leader so OTHER people can shoot the red diamonds. I just keep myself alive so the others can benefit.
Grey, I don't think I had a problem with you at all yesterday. My problems have been with squad leaders who can't/don't/won't communicate and act totally contrary to my orders.
Heck, on Gibraltar yesterday or the day before, one guy was messing up my gameplan something fierce and kept closing to engage with the enemy. Even after told to quit doing that and to pull his squad back. And I promised him that the very next orbital strike was going to be on his head since that is where most of the red dots were. Also asked him to go ahead and apologize to his team mates for his getting them killed as well.
I've seen a highly prominent figure around here lose track of what squad number he was as well. But you, just like he, understood what the general concept or battle plan was and I am ok with that. If things are getting out of whack, trust me, I'll ask what's going on.
Just keep doing your thing though Grey. Or start commanding

Re: Have you ever had one of those days ?
Laggy and Redeye7, I appreciate those comments. You will rarely find me at the top of the Leader boards. I really don't care if my scores are high personally, but I do care if my Squad score is high. And I do care if my Squad is helping the Team to Win. When I make those mistakes I let my Squad down. I find that most don't like to Lead. I do it to better myself and to build the next Leaders on TTP. And that's why I play here at TTP, you guys strive to be the best in the Gaming business. From the Admins to the Clans, Regs to the ones that show up every day to get on this server. I did invite BaronVonHog yesterday to try and get a Reserve slot. When you find something good you want others you like to share that experience. No more kicks...Why because I bought a slot. And you guys allowed me that privilege.

Re: Have you ever had one of those days ?
Jeez, this whole thread is kinda sad because it brings nack memories I'd rather forget. My last purple heart was awhile ago. I think I've got two or three so far. I remember when I got my first one and I could not figure out how I got s medal for not doing worth a dang. That purple heart looked cool when it flashed up. I was happy. Than I learned that it was not a good thing. Then I was sad.
Hang in there hawke.
