Hello!

So you're new to TPG 2142 or at a minimum to the forums here!

Let me give you a friendly piece of advice.

READ THE STICKIES!!!!

Every single one of them! They are there for our (the player's) benefit. They will clearly explain what is expected of you.

Both on the server and in the forums.

At a minimum at least read these.

This should be required reading for all of us.

The above will help you to understand the rules and procedures here at TPG.

This server is not like other servers!

The things that are or are not ok on other servers don't necessarily hold any weight here.

Take the time to find out what is and is not acceptable.

If you find yourself kicked/banned or feel an admin is abusing their powers or has done you some wrong , well there is a place for that!

There is a proper forum and way to post you're complaint / position or request for an un-ban.

Follow the clearly laid out instructions in your post.

Do it right the first time! It will only benefit you and speed up the process of whatever it is your posting about.

As a note, I failed to do that and subsequently found myself forum banned! I went back read the rules and sure enough , I was in violation.

I wasted the admins / moderators time and my own by not taking the simple step of reading the clearly and easily accessible post on forum guidelines.

I have made this easy for you - just look up. Hit the links and read away.

I've read lots of posts in the various threads and the consistent theme is 1st) A failure to post in the proper format and 2nd) Some sort of statement citing ignorance of the rules.

For example , " this is just a game" or "That's not a good enough reason to kick / ban someone".

Read the stickies!

Also, if you can not find your answer there, ask other players! Join squads with people you see a lot and follow orders. You'll learn the game and how things run around here really fast from the regs.

Rob, I totally agree with you. I have learned more by squadding up with you guys. Eveyone has a specific task and duty and they attempt to follow through. I have gotten better because of the Regs, BFH and BD clans. I still have a ways to go...But then again I'm probably one of the oldest here, so my percentages will not incease much more I'm afraid.

Any way we can make them read this immediately when they create a login?

Auto generate a PM maybe so that they will have some kind of idea of what is expected if that is possible.

Or maybe even a check box saying I read all of the rules when they create the login. I know people tend to just check boxes to get through the creation screen but if we can get even 30%-35% to read this prior it would probably save a lot of folks time and heart ache.

Now that's a hell of an idea. For what it's worth I would be behind that 100%.

unless you gave them a pop quiz to test their reading comprehension skills...they will just scroll down and click, ok I agree and move on

but to say not to promote....i won't go that far...but more than likely you'll only reach a very very small % of people

but on the customer service side of things..by doing something, shows that ttp cares even if they do not
