Why do they keep going prone?!?
Hey all,
Most of you probably know this, especially if you are serious enough player to be reading forums. But I am so tired of watching medics lay down to revive me and then getting blasted because they are prone.
YOU DONT HAVE TO LAY DOWN TO REVIVE! You dont even have to crouch; in fact if you are skilled, you can run over the fallen and zap them back to life without even stopping.
Standing and reviving is so much more effective because you can keep running.
Once again, sorry to reitterate something most of us know...maybe BF2 needs a "hint of the day" splash screen instead of a damn Highway Tampa ad...

I have to disagree. I would only say to crouch or stand if the whole freaking team is there, but otherwise if you prone you're less likely to draw attention. A good medic will look around first for the enemy then take action in a stealthy manner. Either way if he revives you and you die, you still only receive 1 death.

Re: Why do they keep going prone?!?
Shiiit, I didn't even know you could revive while standing up. Much less while running over a body. I'm going to have to try that now. I've been learning new stuff every day since coming here. Thanks for sharing this "secret" that "everyone" knows about. And sorry for anoying you by proning to revive your recently smoked ass
As for going prone, I will probably still do it quite often as it kinda makes it harder for the enemy to see you, you know?
But I have been taken out many times because I took a second too long to revive and get outta there. And yeah, I know, try not to revive when the enemy is in wait for it, but if you're a lonely medic up against a tank and the AT guy just got blasted, I feel it is worth a shot anyway.
And again, sorry for the irritation it causes you when you are revived and then gunned down again before you can move.
Speaking of annoying revives. I just hate it when a sniper picks up my kit and revives me in the middle of the shit, leaving me helpless and hopeless (I haven't played sniper since my first few days in game). Please don't do that. If you're any other kit than sniper, by all means, save the day (or at least one ticket...).For when the One Great Scorer comes, to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the Game

Re: Why do they keep going prone?!?
Let's say you died in an opening and I am the medic and I am coming to get you, hopefully after the guy that killed you is dead and he didn't spot before he shot you, so his team sees you light up red and broadcast on the map.
Here is the deal........ Picture shooters 50 meters away from you, looking at your corpse and they see the medic coming, they aim there gun and wait on you to stop, if you stand up, you get your melon popped..... If you kneel down, you get you melon popped because you lower part might even be blocked by grass but your head is still the high point and best 1 shot.
If you lay down, the shooter looking for a well placed shot, now has 2 bodies laying down, sometimes you lose track of which one to shoot, so if the shooter sprays, he might hit the dead guy or you but best case, since he is spraying, you might get a couple of bullets and in BF2, it usually takes 4 to 5 bullets... So you dive in there and hit the button on a well aimed shot and hop up and go, the whole time you are on the move and making yourself a hard target to get that one melon popper shot on and you and your buddy xtract.
I like it when a medic stands or kneels, makes for a nice shot, even if you have to spray, because the recoil rises, like shoot just under chest and you might spay 3 or 4 bullets and hit his torso, but if he is lying down.......You would have to do more precise tapping if he is longways, laying on the ground.
Just some thoughts.

Re: Why do they keep going prone?!?
When I'm medic, and the SL goes down, ill go prone, kneeling etc, whatever means are necessary to get him back up.....if he's in the open..then u have to quickly go thru comms and if he says don't revive me, its not worth etc, then its a judgement call....but if I'm the one running into the fire, then quickly ill say lay down some cover fire (or if I'm covering Liasion). I can't revive standing up, its never worked for me...
If i get revived and we both don't get shot, I'm glad, cuz that's 1 or 2 less tickets we lose.
but if i am surrounded you will see me type "don't revive me" because its not worth to lose 2 or 3 guys for one, especially when the tickets are running close and I'm in the open with heavy fire all around me.
Now PR is different, but that's a different topic for a different forum altogether.

Depends of the situation, if im in the middle of a bullets hive i put my chest on the ground cuz is not that easy to get shot while im bringing the dead back to life, if there is no open fire i revive him standing up, but if its a serious serious case.
example: the guys dead body is laying down on the middle of the street, with enemy infantry and enemy armor around him, doing the dance of the death like the hyenas does before jumping into the carcass to have a feast, i use my super powers and revive the guy from 3 feets away.
