Need Advice on Dealing with Single member Squads
I've noticed lately that we've had alot of very small (1 or 2 man) squads, along with 1 or 2 full squads. Generally, the full squads are lead by recognizable SL's - MaBell, The Jeep, Drax, Slowmotion, or one of the Doom guys. However, all of the other squads were very small and wholly in effective. As commander I tried on multiple occasions to combine squads and to get unassigned to join but to no avail. Face it when commanding it's almost useless to send a squad with one gut in it to take or defend a flag. Any suggestions on trying to coerce or convince them to team up (given that a firing squad is unavailable)?
Signed Frustrated Commander.

If there is no compliance over comm's, I will usually type it out to the team, then if the SL's don't squad up with someone else or if its really hampering the rest of the team, ill type it out to the whole server.

Re: Need Advice on Dealing with Single member Squads
I've definitely thought about an arty strike but have resisted, and the language used was definitely not acceptable for primetime. I guess its just one of those things you have to deal with. I do want to commend the members of full squads (and they know who they are) by focusing instructions and resources on them we were able to win a couple of rounds or at least make it a good fight.
One note: when I command a single man squad only gets requests filled in the rarest of situations, and also gets an explanation as to why I'm not filling his request.

Here is another topic that addresses some of this or at least is talking about some of the same issues: http://www.texasteamplayers.com/inde...5791#msg225791. I am sure that if an Admin is on and they are made aware of the problem they will take appropriate action.

Re: Need Advice on Dealing with Single member Squads
This can be a very slippery slope. Per most of the scrolling messages, you are either required to join or create a squad. If a single man squad is still following the commander's orders, is he still not being a teamplayer?
Instead of getting angry with these people, try to work with them. A single or two man squad may be perfect for an attack on the enemy's assets. Ideally, you want full squads or maybe one or two 3-person squads to cap loose flags. As long as each player is in squad and following orders, God bless them.

Re: Need Advice on Dealing with Single member Squads
If you have all squads taken with only one or two guys in each, and there are unquadded players left, then you can suggest that they start to join up. The admins will back you up and ensure that people join squads. And if the squads are locked, people will be kicked.
