    First Command Loss Today

Well I got on this mourning so I could get my next rank(stupid score bar pegged out again)and had to command. The teams were even in numbers(but no regulars on) and we were back and forth on silos. Well I got that command screen glitch and next thing you know we are no shields and three consoles down. I order defence but by the time we rallied they were in our core big time. Well 4 and 1 now so guess I will stick with squad leader and squading for a while. If any of my team from this mourning comes on and reads this, I'm sorry for the loss.

Yeah, there's only so much you can do when you check the shield strength and the titan's already under attack with no defenders. I'm sure everyone understood... one thing that everyone seems to recommend is to assign squads to attack and defence early on, so you don't have to worry if you forget to check later.

Ahh well, nobody can bat 1.000. Too bad you lost out due to that crap bug though.

I really like leading a squad when your commanding Brinkwolf, thanks for stepping up and learning the job, it makes the server better for all of us. I think you should keep at it.

Absolutely, I started doing that shortly after I started taking the commander position many moons ago. I will still periodically drop out of the commander hood and remind the defense and/or assault squads of shield strengths, but knowing I have capable squad leaders just gives me more options.

Get duties assigned early, personally, I only give each squad a task or 2 to take care of on titan rounds until the shields drop. Leave it to the smart squad leader's discretion about how he wants to handle the tasks assigned to him and you are free to keep an eye on the the rest of the battle and get pertinent info out there.

I have never won a game commanding. I've decided I will not command unless I have the authority to kick people. To many KlownZ in the circus.

Left 4 Dead refuses to start

I used to play Left 4 Dead everyday, with no problems other than the occasional broken achievement. I took a few months off from playing it to try other games and I've just recently decided to go back to it. Now the game won't even start at all. I just get a message that states....

"Steam has found a problem with your local game files. Game files will now be re-acquired from the Steam servers".

If you click OK, then the message simply repeats itself. So I pressed cancel and tried my luck at deleting the game and then re-installing it. A message appeared that stated....

"You don't have enough disk space available to run this game. Please free up some disk space and then try again".

Something is clearly not right here, because I do indeed have enough space to run it. I don't know what happened in the space of time that I quit playing Left For Dead. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have had EXACTLY the same problem happen to me when I tried starting up the game.

Using both the steam defrag AND the verify cache doesnt work. Even a ful defrag using o&o defrag hasnt worked. This only affects l4d, as all my other steam games seem to be working fine.
