Apparently a dwindling 2142 player base , lackluster sales , has doomed any expansion for BF 2142 by EA . 1.40 is supposed to be the final patch to the game . If true all I can say is....SHIT!

Well if it is TRUE, I guess I will be spending more time playing Project Reality.

why? EA/Dice is notorious for fucking things up with their patches anyways.

maybe if they would put some effort into the game...people would play it more...maybe. It has been way to long for the 1.4 patch and people just get sick of the same ole problems. Not to mentions that means nothing is really going to happen with northern strike booster...

2142's alright. I just don't like the titans and walkers, really. Wouldn't feel anything if it went under.

If BF2 went under, though, I'd probably never play an EA game again.

The problem is it was marked from the start as "just a mod" by BF2 players. It was bad marketing by EA which caused that, so people didn't like the idea from the onset. When it turned up as a buggier, but improved, version of BF2, people just sorta shrugged and went back to BF2.

As long as they don't kill stats, I don't give a shit if they put out another patch (assuming they fix a lot of the major bugs in this one). If they kill stats, I will be... displeased.

Stats. We don't need no stinkin' stats. Most of us are Brigadier Generals and since there is no rank advancement past that, points mean nothing to me nowadays. I just play for the fun of it.

Well, as long as you can still use the upgrades, true. But I just like the sense of achievement in getting that new upgrade, or seeing that shiny gold badge sitting in my case.

I'd actually have to work towards them if they plan to stop tracking new stuff. And I hate paying attention to those things.

Better get busy Ben. After you get BG, you will have pretty much all the upgrades and it will be a non-issue. I don't need to worry about Fied Upgrades. Got everything I need already.
