Theyre doing it now becuase of the adrenaline shots. They enable you to melee with out fatigue and ignore CI snaring for about 10-12 seconds, plus 25 temporary health.

The Left 4 Dead 2 information page has been updated with new information from Comic-con week! Valve has allowed Gamespy and IGN sneak previews of the new content, and they have quite a bit to say! In addition to what was posted last time from the Gamespy preview, which included Mud Men, the Spitter, and new supply types, the IGN preview includes additional information. Swamp Fever will be split into four chapters instead of the traditional five, though playtesting seems to indicate that it’s roughly the same length as other campaigns in terms of playing time. The finale will take place at an old plantation farm, where the Survivors await rescue by boat.

When Mud Men attack, they will be able to splash Survivors with mud, temporarily obscuring their vision.

The new pill type, adrenaline, will probably be in the form of some kind of an injector. In addition to granting unlimited bashing and preventing Common Infected from dragging players down, the adrenaline will also grant a temporary HP boost, though it will not be as great as the boost from pills.

The IGN preview also mentions a new special ammunition type: explosive ammo! There are few details, but it appears to last for a clip and knock back Infected when it detonates (on impact). These are indeed exciting times!

Ha yeh, I go on those froums for news, but end up spending ages E-Screaming at a lot of the ignorant anti-l4d2 people that seem to make up a large majority of the L4D2 forum users.

"explosive ammo". whoa, whoa, shit just got real! I just hope that valve knows what they are doing when they expand the survivor's arsenal with all of these cool features.

"The Spitter" I think we just found the hunters best friend... Keeps idiots out of corners and makes it easier for hunter to pounce people now.

Spitter will be great for spitting on downed survivors I think.

I also think that these new SI will be level specific. It looks like you'll have hunters, boomers, smokers, and then the Spitters, and Chargers will be on different levels from one another.

I wonder if the damage from the Spitter's blob will interrupt the revival of a downed player? I'm pretty sure that in combination with a rotation of hunters/smokers on whoever is reviving would keep a player down quite a long time
