Errant squad members? Errant squad members? Errant squad members?

    Re: Errant squad members?

Actually, it was a tough run of it on all 3 docks on Bavaria. Made harder by the fact we didn't have a commander to tell us what dock had the least defenders to even try to take in the 1st place.

Just vocalizing with your squad mates takes care of most issues. Speaking their name directly "hey Yuri, what are you doing at the Living Quarters, the orders are for the East Dock" or something to that effect gets most people back on your game plan.

If you have a problem with repeat offenders, ask in all caps for an admin. There are some in the game, there are some frequently watching the game from the outside. State your problem and the admins can warn and/or kick repeat offenders. Kick from the squad first, but if that doesn't do it, then by all means, yell for an admin.

And from the little bit that I was in your squad last night, you were doing fine. Just keep going at it. Good squad leaders are a major asset. They take a lot of pressure off the commander and can let the commander perform much more effectively. Last night, I was able to focus more and speak to individual squads instead of essentially mic spamming talking to all squads all the time with info that only applies to a single squad.

    Re: Errant squad members?

Call them out by name. For some reason, calling them out by name will usually light a spark under them and make them aware that you are watching your squad.

Don't forget if you want to see who is on the other side of the map from you, Click CAPS then click on the green dot that isn't where it is supposed to be, look at the list of names in your squad, the black one that is alive is the person not following orders. That way you know who call out. Give them till they die, if they don't come back, type using squad chat (so that they stand a chance of seeing it in green)that they are being kicked from squad becuase they are not following your orders.

If you can, leave them in you squad and call out for an admin. Type in all caps ADMIN ________ refuses to follow orders. Make sure you see if they were warned or not, a lot of admins will warn before a kick...If they continue to cause a problem after the warning, type out for the admin again...hopefully at this point the admin will kick them.

Remember, it might be an in game admin, so you might have to type it 2x for the admin to see it...

just cause they are not with SL they are not always insubordinate remember its easy to get whisked off to another point in the map.

chasing someone sometimes lands me half a click from the SL, then you jump in to a trasport you thought was squad owned only to find out you going Waayyyyyy!! over there.

if you dont have wheels sometimes I find myself defending the last SL command point till I can regroup.

    Re: Errant squad members?

Smart SL's are able to keep in contact with their squad. Smarter squad mates check in with their SL..... "hey, I just spawned on the transport and I have no idea where he is going".

But I start to get irritated when I haven't seen a squad member in my near vicinity in the last 5 minutes and I haven't heard a reason as to why. Even when I check in as SAAW engineer, I let my squad leader know, "hey, SL, Laggy here, I am going to go set up anti air over at XXX"

But on Conquest maps, its a bit harder to show up in a random spawn point nowhere near your SL.

Just to chime in here... I generally play sniper (switch to support when we are attacking/defending titan) and I've had several times when I jumped in a transport (air/ground) only to find that it's not squad owned and I DO wind up on the opposite side of the map

I generally try to get back over to the SL order point though.

I know Alundil - there have been many a time where I thought I was in an APC driven by somebody in my squad since it was green, and then find that we are going the opposite way from the silo or flag I was ordered to cap. Depending on where I am at the time - I will jump out and start shlepping it on foot, or help that guy cap his flag and then steal the APC

This is one of those things that I think we have multiple threads about from the past...sniping and squad contributions that is. You could search those up for that aspect, lots of good info on how folks feel in there.

Alot of people jump on transports and apcs that drive to the opposite side of the map from where they want to go. It's their fault for hopping on a random transport and just hoping there is a small chance it goes where they want. Pod out, grab a jeep, anything, rather than seeing that your going to the wrong spot. If there is no beacon to spawn on, and the squad leader is dead, just wait a few seconds, or grab a vehicle from the closest spot and drive to the objective, but really....claiming that 'this guy took me somewhere else' just means you didn't put any thought into where you are spawning, and just took the first random white dot that looked to be somewhat in the right zip code.

Not bustin' your balls at all, i've done / and still do it, too. We all just need to realize that its not an excuse for not being where we are supposed to be, and put some thought into things before just clicking the closest thing and hoping it works out :9

I'd rather have a squad member spend 10 seconds longer at the spawn screen, than spend 5 minutes on the wrong portion of the map.

You beat me to it Yuri! Yes sometimes they are green dots but with VOIP if your uncertain you can find out rather than clicking and waiting to spawn to get an answer. As long as your squad leader is ok with you helping another squad on their objective though, well thats a different story and totally acceptable. I've sent folks like Hinder and Charvel that I know can kill everyone in a ten mile radius to scoot over to help another squad if things are going very easy for us, etc. etc.

    Re: Errant squad members?

    I agree with Redeye.

the other thing, if there are no spawn points, that means there are no points for your entire squad...So say something to the SL...Hey, there are no spawn points, shoul dwe keep attacking...from where? A lot of times the SL will say go from point a to b. Or if it is titan, spawn on titan and wait for next transport...they do tend to spawn a lot. That way you can take a spawn point to the correct side of the map for the rest of your squad to use.
